I have been working at Capital One

    Pros

fun to work at, work-life balance, compensation, company values. This is a fortune 500 company that treats their employees well. Fun to work at.

    Cons

work loads can be excessive at times. I feel like I am lost in the sea of employees. The commute sucks but at least sometimes I get to work from home. Mostly good things and the bad things are typical at most companies.

I worked at Capital One full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Capital One is fast for a bank, on the cutting edge and an industry leader in analytics. The company has been using data before 'big data' was a buzzword. Training is great for college new hires in the Analyst Development Program

    Cons

After acquiring banks, has started to slow down a bit. Like most businesses, many of the processes are known through tribal knowledge only.

I worked at Capital One as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Senior management is great and they really are concerned for your well-being. They watch out for you, on both a personal and professional level. It is also easy to move within the company. The outlook is great and the culture is great.

    Cons

Experience may heavily depend on what team you are on. Industry area may not be for everyone. Unclear about potential exit opportunities.

    Great Summer Internship

Former Employee - Business Analyst Intern

I worked at Capital One as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Flexible work schedule as far as 9-5 jobs are concerned. Get your own project to work on throughout the summer. Great leadership and mentorship. Lots of fun social events

    Cons

Most of the work is done towards the end of the internship after you get acclimated which can lead to some frustration

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

As an intern, I was not sure of my performance until the very end. I think managers should be more open with their interns on their progress as the summer goes on.
