    Pros

Very nice working from home, the benefits are great and the people are nice. The training was also very good and all equipment is provided.

    Cons

The pay is low so it makes it hard to make a living

    Advice to Management

I would like to see starting salary a little more reasonable. The bonuses are tough to get. I do get them but I would like to see the pay a bit higher.

    Cons

Big business "downfalls" will layoff employees as needed for realigning of intent or to meet budget goals

    Pros

i absolutely love working for this company. They really take care of their employees!

    Cons

I can't think of any cons except the recent lay offs. Hard to see people I've worked with for a long time let go.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the great work! Love working for this company and am proud to say I work for this company!

    Pros

Flexibility, work life balance, great comp and benefits - overall I work with great people in a very fun environment.

    Cons

Very political - can be frustrating and difficult at times to get promotions, raises, etc

    Advice to Management

Pushing upper leadership to promote/fighting for high performing associates who deserve that next step.

    Pros

Great culture, great benefits, work-life balance is fairly good. Facilities and training are top-notch. They truly invest in the pipeline talent.

    Cons

Performance management process is not a balanced one and needs improvement. Not easy to move up as easily. Compensation can be higher to be on par with other comaparble companies.

    Advice to Management

Continue to push the strategy through the associates, but improve the performance management process, or you will continue to lose good quality employees.

    Pros

    - Work life balance - Merit-based promotions and opportunities - Best ideas win - Goes to great lengths to develop its people

    Cons

    - Slow to change (though probably no slower than other, highly regulated banking institutions) - Often requires working around others who are not pulling their weight - High attention to detail, but not always the right detail

    Advice to Management

Set up more measurable ways to differentiate high performers beyond peer & management judgement. This is holding some groups back from changing. Setting up measurement of competencies can help identify where development is sorely needed.

    Pros

Love the culture, salary, benefits and work-life balance. I love the people and they've always made development a priority.

    Cons

While the company is undergoing a huge change in the way they deliver work (moving to agile) their performance management and compensation has been slow to adjust. To keep good talent, it's critical that they promote at a solid pace, but I've been disappointed with the upward movement.

    Pros

Every employee is kind, patient and willing to help. The standard of excellence that Capital One expects from it's employees shows in all aspects of the business.

    Cons

There is a large divide between the executive branch and the common associate. The environment can be competitive in certain groups as everyone is trying to move up. There is quite a bit of disconnect between branches and you have to build contacts if you want to succeed.

    Advice to Management

Ask employees how they would improve things and allow them to get credit on original ideas.
