    Pros

The company is a strong and stable company. Benefits are good, as well as employees and ability to learn a variety of skills. Upper management is good, but often the management at the branches is either lacking or needs improvement. Part-Time teller jobs are great for college students.

    Cons

Branch managers/Assistant Branch Managers can often use the "bully" tactics to get their way. Often when changes are made tellers are the last employees to know, or to not receive the complete education on why a change is being made. Salary is awful, don't expect to be paid equivalent to the work you put in, they may give you stock shares, but stock shares don't pay monthly bills. Often due to the pathway HR uses, employees who should be terminated are not therefor you get a few dead legs in each department. I would encourage any employee to gain the skills CapFed offers and leave when you are able to get better pay, staying will be bad for your career (you will lose not only pay but better opportunities)

    Advice to Management

Upper management is great, branch managers need a MAJOR wake-up call, these are the managers that make your female employees uncomfortable with their inappropriate jokes/comments, and don't know how to effectively manage. Pay your employees more, there are not many opportunities to grow but the salary does give people a livable wage.

    Pros

Flexible schedule Bank is very solid financially

    Cons

Low pay and poor benefits, career advancement is minimal. IT department is mismanaged and could use a restructure.

    Advice to Management

Review the pay structure and benefits. It is hard to retain good employees. Also look for additional ways to grow the bank. Don't be scared of growth. Talented employees are leaving due to the lack of growth. Reevaluate some upper management, especially in IT.

    Pros

Work is straight forward. Love interaction with customers

    Cons

The company will not grow due to fear of more bank regulation. The Consumer Financial Protection agency is often mentioned. Thus, not long term promotion possibilities.

    Advice to Management

Run you company like it is a winner. Don't be afraid to grow.

    Pros

Capfed is a great company to work for. Management really cares about their employees, if invested in the company for 3+ years you are fully vested in capfed stock. Easy to move up in company.

    Cons

The biggest issue for me is the in-store locations. If you are in management you have a horrible schedule. The hours are long and you don't get much of a social life.

    Advice to Management

Change in-store hours. Saturday hours would be perfect at 9-3 or 10-4... there is no need to be open until 6. And Sunday hours 10-2... We would really like NOT working in the middle of our day.

    Cons

*Pay is low due to it being a regional bank *Not a lot of room to move up because of the lack of upper management positions *have to work on saturdays

    Advice to Management

they do the best they can for what they are given to work with

    Pros

Great company, competitive pay, great benefits and awesome ESOP!

    Cons

Working at an in-store branch requires long hours, tradtional branches have better hours except for fridays they are open until 6 with very little traffic between 5-6. Branches are not all on the same page. They all have different ways of doing everything. There are fewer branch manager positions now which means less room for employee advancement.

    Advice to Management

Consider monitoring the traffic you have on Friday evenings at the traditional locations. It may be wise to close the lobby at 4 and have the drive thru open until 6 instead.

    Pros

Turnover allows for easy movement across branches and upward in the bank. All employees, including part-time, receive benefits. Fellow employees were friendly, helpful and professional. Management was supportive and interested in coaching employees in preparation for advancement.

    Cons

Part-time employees work long Fridays (10 hours) and every Saturday, making 6-day workweeks. There are fewer branch locations compared to larger banks.

    Advice to Management

Allow Saturdays off or 5-week work weeks for part-time employees.
