    Not great....not bad. Just okay.

ProsOverall...good working environment. Organization does believe in professional growth for their employees.

ConsA lot of politics are involved at headquarters in Mclean. However, that is pretty typical given the amount of "C" level executives and officers that work in that building.

Advice to Senior ManagementThey need to institute better work-life balance opportunities and offer more paid vacations.

ProsLaid back... but it's changing... turning into a SunTrust...
Used to be for the employees... Now becoming stingy after making few bucks...

ConsGood people used to work here...
    Lots of firing...
    No promotions from inside...

Advice to Senior ManagementTurn back into humans like you were before...

Cardinal is an excellent, well-performing bank that could use a few internal improvements.

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) McLean, VA

    Pros- community feel
    - conservative banking culture ensures good management and sound practices
    - small size allows customers direct access to decision makers

Cons- employees could be managed better: more back office support, better performance review processes
    - decisions are often based on who you know
    - conservative nature can be arbitrary

Advice to Senior ManagementOffer benefits that would cost the company little such as flextime; institute more formalized performance review process; hire more assistants and back office support; reduce workloads on key individuals (and reduce risk of those individuals leaving). Reinvest profits into website upgrades and increased compensation.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend
