Pros
the dental and medical benefits are the only good things
Cons
Management is horrible. The only way to get to the top is to honestly suck up which is how some people climb up the rank so fast, even though they have no clue what they're doing. It's not what you know but who you know. They'll change your start time when ever they feel like it. If one of the supervisor or manager don't like you then they'll find a way to get you fired. It's a slave camp with dumb management. They only see you as a number not a person so it's like working for a sweat shop, that's why there's so many people that leave that place. It's like a revolving door. Management has horrible communication skills. The workers morale is at and all time low considering how management runs that place. A happy worker is a good worker.
Pros
flexible time, casual dress and good benefits
Cons
Not much of the career growth...Lack of innovative approach...
Advice to Senior Management
Promote the innovative approach...
Pros
No good reason to work here unless you are desperate and live in the area. They are close to the tollway.
Cons
You have to know someone or be a relative friend or neighbor of an employee to even get your foot in the door. They play favorites, use you, ignore you, make you work as a temp for years, you get passed up for permanent employment by one of their friends, they look for something wrong so they can give you a bad review and not give you more money. They gossip and watch everything you do, when you come in, leave, go to lunch, the bathroom, etc.
Advice to Senior Management
The management is the problem! Get rid of the management that have been there for more than 1 year. They do not care about the hard working employees. There are a handful of gossipy, winey, clicky long time employees that make life horrible for everyone else. The managers make no changes, do not listen to the employees, and take a lot of personal time and do not clock it.
Pros
solid industry
good work life balance
corporate HQ is great facility
easy commute
Cons
limited growth opportunities unless you are in Finance
very bureaucratic
more and more corporate policies to follow making harder to get important work complete
Advice to Senior Management
stay aggressive with acquisitions
Pros
The benefits are very good. 19 days of paid time off from the start of employment. Medical, dental, and optical programs. Childcare support and numerous other employee benefits. One of the best packages in the industry.
Cons
Everyone is not treated equally, regardless of performance contributions. There is a strong bias for those employees who have been there the longest and who have close friendships with one Operations Manager. Employees who question the visible favoritisms are threatened behind closed doors or quickly removed from office. MySafeWorkplace tip line is not anonymous. That information is also privy to senior leaders. The word gets out quickly.
Advice to Senior Management
Reward your performers and hold everyone equally accountable, at every level. Investigate issues accurately and thoroughly. Do not take your Operations Manager's word alone. He is the sly fox that sweeps the truth under the carpet, smiles, and buys the first round.
Pros
The organization has a good senior leadership team in place which has an eye for the future. They anticipate future trends and manages present course corrections in order to mitigate the potential risk.
Cons
The organization tends to be"siloed"
Pros
Stable Job Environment, Good Health benefits, Work life balance, Lot of growth happenning in the company in terms of IT awareness
Cons
Very Limited Growth Opportunities, Salary little bit lesser than the market, No Bonus paid to employees lower than manager level
Advice to Senior Management
Make some changes in the HR policy regarding the bonus and salary to be competetive in the market. Rest everything is great at Cardinal.
Pros
Small company feel, treated well, Wellness Center a plus, ripe with opportunity, openness to doing the right thing. empowered to do the job, supported, making a difference, balanced compensation plan, written out.
Cons
Too much collaberation, some individuals fear failure, too much talking, sometimes not enough planning
Advice to Senior Management
Leverage technology more to create efficiencies and drive costs out of the company.
Pros
Large company with many sites
Decent compensation with overtime available
Great benefits, medical, dental, vision and 401k
Plenty of PTO available
Cons
Leadership is poorly trained on people skills
Negativity among employees
Inconsistency on what's expected of employees
Lack of fair recognition for achievements and innovation
Advice to Senior Management
Treat floor employees with honest recognition and support, be consistent with expecations and policy enforcement. Give fair reward for achievements.
Pros
The employee atmosphere is welcoming and can easily get along with the work force. The amount of vacation is above and beyond what most companies give to their employees.
Cons
The progression to advance through the company is very slow and sometime disheartening. Middle level management is not always the most knowledge.
Advice to Senior Management
Keep your employees more informed about the business model and where is the company seeking to grow and progress. Look to advance your young talent more through the ranks.
