I have been working at Cardinal Logistics Management full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Good people with a focus on customer service. Management very involved in the business to contribute whenever needed. Growth opportunities across the country.

    Cons

Transportation business is based on customer needs which can be long hours and frustrating at times. Competition for drivers is difficult with a driver shortage.

I worked at Cardinal Logistics Management full-time

    Pros

The job opportunities are there - especially local jobs for driver's. In an environment where most driver's want to be home on a daily basis, Cardinal (Cardinal-Greatwide) has some stellar opportunities that pay decently.

    Cons

Although their jobs may be above average, it is almost impossible to get employed. If you are in need of a job I would NOT recommend going to Cardinal-Greatwide for an opportunity as it may take over a month for you to actually start working. Many (if not all) trucking companies have a huge demand for truck driver's, but it seems as though Cardinal-Greatwide is simply not in need of them. There is no sense of urgency and the people that you work with in their recruiting department are very slow to get anything done. I can only imagine that this same company image is portrayed throughout the rest of the company, making me think that it is not a company that any driver would want to work for.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

My advice would be to show more urgency and awareness when it comes to one of the trucking industries largest problems: driver turnover & availability.

    Pros

They take family very seriously and they are flexible when you need to deal with family problems. They stay professional and they keep the work environment civil, welcoming and progressive.

    Cons

    No every oe is equal.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep a standard starting salary for ITs....the different between someone who has been there for a year and started as an intern and a new hire with a degree should not be very wide. They are at the same level.

I have been working at Cardinal Logistics Management full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    Not much. It's a paycheck.

    Cons

The upper management say they appreciate the workers that put them there, then say how proud they are paying lower than competition. Lower managers act like the company is in business to let them do whatever they want. Who manages the managers? Hard to say if that even happens, apparently managers here do not get criticized, much less corrected. Brown noses rise to the top, sometimes along with someone who actually knows what they are doing. If you are lucky you get to work with the latter. No one appears to care how unprofessional this is. They are not in the twenty first century.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you don't stick to professional standards, you won't have a professional work place. Managers should learn from their workers, not just the other direction, if you really want quality. Other companies could teach you a lot about holding managers accountable for how they act, not just their numbers.

I have been working at Cardinal Logistics Management full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

If you want a job that you'll do until you retire, this is it.

    Cons

Pay, benefits, advancement, senior management leadership.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get your head out of the sand to see that most people aren't happy at Cardinal anymore. You sold it as being debt free awesomeness and now people are working harder and longer than ever and getting paid less with no upside in sight. Expect to hire a lot of people this year.

I worked at Cardinal Logistics Management full-time for less than a year

    Pros

I worked on the petsmart account which was a very good account.

    Cons

Dispatch was between midnight and 4am and was not consistent. Pay was by the mile and stop which was not consistent for a company who did all local petsmart accounts and 6 in Alabama.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get someone in the position who actually cares about the drivers they employ.

I worked at Cardinal Logistics Management full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Home every night and off on the weekends mostly. Pays decent if you don't take into consideration what your actually making an hour and just stick to the "per mile" plan lol or how much you make a week regardless of how many hours you worked for it..

    Cons

Typical American company sad to say that care's only for bottom line and will do anything to get it regardless of who it hurts.. What's even more pathetic is the fact that this is probably a better local position for a truck driver in my area anyways (waco, tx)..
