Not a good place for long run.

    Analyst (Current Employee)
    San Diego, CA

Prosthe pay is decent but only good for surviving, there's no room for growth.

ConsManagement needs to collaborate and promote from within.

Disrespectful and out of touch upper management team

    Field Sales (Former Employee)

ProsGood benefits, some people care and want to do a good job.

ConsSelfish upper management focused on their next promotion, layoffs, low morale, lack of business investment, constant shift in strategic priorities, regular reductions in sales base salaries, lazy executive team

Advice to Senior ManagementGet out of the comfortable office enclave and learn the business. Instead of issuing edicts make an effort to understand the sales cycle by working with your sales people and talking with customers.

Innovative Products & Enjoyable Culture - Top Leadership Needs Work

    Sales Manager (Current Employee)

ProsInnovative products, culture, marketing support, strong lower level leadership (RM & Director Level)

ConsEmployees do not come first, lack of promotional opportunities, must relocate for most positions, compensation packages, internal issues, tough competition for disposable products

Advice to Senior ManagementTreat your employees like you expect to be treated. Stock prices do not make a company successful; employees do.

Pretty good company, nice benefits, but questionable leadership.

    Software Engineer (Former Employee)
    San Diego, CA

ProsBenefits are good, typical for a larger company. 401k is decent but not as good as it used to be. Competetive pay and PTO. The relaxed dress code is nice.

ConsLeadership is weak. In my group (enterprise software development), software developers were being promoted to manager and even director positions, with lack of qualifications and no formal management training whatsoever. By the time I left my entire department was being run by a bunch of newbie, clueless managers. This REALLY brought morale down and people were leaving the group in droves. Just goes to show if you've got enough smoke and mirrors you can get anywhere in this company. But if you want a steady job in a pretty decent corporate environment and you can tolerate the knuckleheads running the show then this place will do.

A big ship, getting bigger without a rudder...

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsThere are some bright people who work here. San Diego locations are nice and the weather is good.

ConsLack of leadership make it nearly impossible to innovate, create or learn. Middle management is horrible. Most middle managers and directors would not even be managers in other companies. There is zero culture in this Cube Farm atmosphere.

Advice to Senior ManagementAccept Change, Drive Change and start listening with your ears instead of your mouth.

A Good Place To Work While Looking For Your Next Job

Principal Software Quality Engineer (Former Employee)
    San Diego, CA

ProsCompetitive benefits and pay with local area. A good place to work while you look for another job

ConsVery tops down rigid hierarchy management structure. Lots of directors and executive managers have their own offices and tend to be disconnected with individual employees. This is not a place where you can expect executive management to listen to your ideas; alternative viewpoints are simply not accepted. The company gives a good sells pitch for collaboration and culture to attract you during the hiring process, once inside you will quickly learn it’s just talk.
The company bonus structure is very disproportional with directors getting 15+% bonuses while individual contributors get about 1%. It’s a great place to work if you’re a director and above but for most it's constant layoffs under a false premise of “simplification”.
Products are ok, but tend to be lacking in cutting edge technology designs that customers really want.
Mid level mangers create their own empires with agendas that don’t align with CEO goals. Communication is very controlled and if you speak up you will be a target for the next layoff. Moral is very low.

Advice to Senior ManagementReduce the management overhead. Set the objectives, then get out of the way and let your employees do the job. Encourage and reward creative thinking.

    Disappointed

    Manager (Former Employee)
    San Diego, CA

Prospay and benefits competitive if you know how to negotiate. most products do add value to the healthcare industry and improve patient safety.

ConsExtreme cost cutting to achieve profits is not sustainable. Inexperienced Directors placed in roles in which they have no past experience or skills in.

    Advice to Senior Managementgood luck!

    It's ok

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsInternational environment, possibility to work with different teams, interaction with colleagues from other countries. Opportunities for growth are ok.

ConsSometimes seems too hierarchical, difficult to make your voice heard in headquarters. It could be more open to ideas coming from the people on the field.

Advice to Senior ManagementValue more what you have internationally
