I have been working at CareFusion
Pros – Learning all the time. Complex business domain.
Cons – Some politics, but what place doesn't. As an employee, it's your responsibility to keep your skills current and to be on projects that the business truly values, else you may be laid off:
Advice to Senior Management – Ensure that individual contributors have a true career path and opportunities.

I have been working at CareFusion full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – Flexible hours and room for advancement. Salary is decent and benefits are alright. 401K, bonus, etc
Cons – Company keeps going through periods of restructuring and layoffs. Employee bonus is meager and there is no stock options or stock purchase program.
Advice to Senior Management – Improve company moral and stop constant restructuring.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

I worked at CareFusion full-time for more than a year
Pros – -Actual employees are very nice. Potentially good opportunity to work on unique projects and work on new things (you have to take the initiative to learn things yourself)
-Ability to advance quickly if you're in right place at right time and with the proper manager
-Good Benefits and PTO (19 days off but you rarely get other holidays off)
-Looks good on your resume if you're looking for a job in San Diego, especially in medical device industry
Cons – Terrible Management and your job really depends on your manager.
Executives change there minds and give you new work every 2 weeks
Constant structural changes requiring employees to get fed up and leave after <1 year causing a vicious cycle
No sharing of skills between employees. Hirings are based on technical ability so nobody wants to share their skill sets.
0 diversity in senior management. Have to be white to get Director or above role (more than half of work force is of a minority race yet management is almost 100% disproportionately white (especially on the director, VP, and Executive levels) but very prevalent on the manager level as well... This is coming from a white person...
Sink or swim mentality of employees due to pressures from management
0 training. Don't expect to be trained... Take the initiative and learn everything yourself.
Advice to Senior Management – Foster growth and treat your employees with respect. Guide your employees and have proper training.
Hire managers not based on technical skills but on leadership and management skills as well (ask entry level employees how they are doing so you don't promote the wrong people).
Diversify senior management a little! You can promote a minority once every while...

I have been working at CareFusion full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Large company with the feel of a small family-owned company. Catered lunches, awesome team-building exercises, and awesome team that really focuses on whatever is needed to get the job done.
Cons – Access to cutting edge processes and tools is limited. As in any small town, gossip travels quickly and sometimes the professionalism could be held to a higher standard.

I worked at CareFusion full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – Large company, easy to shine and plenty of opportunity for advancement.
Cons – Publicly held, so decisions made to keep stockholders happy. Constant small layoffs to avoid bad press. There seems to be a "director" for about every 10 - 20 employees. Lots of VP's as well. Hierarchy is constantly changing.
Advice to Senior Management – Start looking at leaders in positions of leadership. Stop promoting people who are good at their specific jobs but have no leadership ability.

I have been working at CareFusion as a contractor
Pros – Work with some great people and decent work environment. Employee pick nicks are fun and can't go wrong with free coffee.
Cons – CareFusion workforce is 75% temps that don't receive any benefits or paid time off along with bonus while managers and full time employees do. Instead of hiring someone on, they just bring more temps or extend temp contract.
Advice to Senior Management – Start hiring and stop with the temps. To the CEO, stop riding around in a limo, it really hurts employee moral.

I worked at CareFusion full-time for more than a year
Pros – This is a good company when it comes to work life balance and resources available. This is a large company so they have resources like SAP and salesforce.com.
Cons – There is a real disconnect with mission and short-term goals. There never seemed to be a long term plan and some of the products in the portfolio did not fit the company.
Advice to Senior Management – Management needs to communicate more with the rest of the team. Some managers were excellent and others were in over their head. There is great potential to grow their leaders.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company
