    Personal growth is fairly good with some good areas for opportunities in SW development

    Office culture could be more merrier as you might end up getting bored sitting in cube all day

    Pros

    Great work life balance, great benefits, though salary could be higher.

    Cons

    Management sometimes seems "stuck in their ways" and seems to be at the lower end of the industry as far as advancing products (compared to other device companies). If you are not in San Diego, where corporate headquarters is, there is limited room to move to other positions without relocating.

    Nice Compensation, PTOs, San Diego weather,

    Cons

    You need to puppet, carry out tasks assigned by managers but not allowed to ask any questions.
    Very arrogant and rule middle management, they pitch themselves expert of everything.
    Very depressing environment.
    Micro Management- You need ti give status/ or 5 people will advising you how to carryout your tasks.

    Wake up fire incompetent managers, this place will be much better to work for.

    I worked at CareFusion as a contractor for less than a year

    Pros

    Good stability. Strong hierarchical management structure limits upward mobility. Everyone is very busy, but effectiveness is questionable. Overall, bureaucratic and sluggish management style is traditionally resistant to change, but could use a very strong dose of entrepreneurial problem solving infusion.

    Cons

    Cross-organizational culture is stagnant at best with little synergy. Most teams are too large to actually solve critical problems.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Consider using hands-on evangelists with authority to select small effective laser focused teams for problem solving. Otherwise, there are generally too many team players working the same problems with little or no effect. Additionally, there is too much wash, rinse and reuse of routine documentation for effective management tools and guidelines. A 360 degree process between design, supply-chain and manufacturing to invoke true continual improvement will go a long way.

    Pros

    Benefits are good, other employees work as a team with you, local management does care but there hands re usually tied.

    Cons

    VP level and above has no clue what is happening on daily basis and who the ones are that are a actually keeping the customer as customers, hint it's not sales or implementation...... CareFusion has been doing a stock buy back which is great but the stock is raising and it's not because sales are increasing. Does engineering have a clue of the costs they are causing the company in OT for support staff because someone reversed a 1 and 0 in the code somewhere??? Just saying......

    Get out of the office and talk with end users, not directors or CEO's of the hospitals but the actual users that deal with the crap that is made in San Diego on a daily basis.

    Pros

    Good salary plus bonuses. Nice campus.
    Decent stock / 401K options.
    Some good people in the trenches to work with.

    Cons

    Incompetent middle and upper management who bring in their own useless cronies.
    Directors let their petty tiffs impact projects and functionality.
    Everyone tries to claim credit for the good things and place blame for the bad. Nobody willing to accept responsibility for their decisions.
    Run you into the ground working after hours, nights, weekends.
    Talk about culture, but don't actually live it.

    Figure out the useless twits you have in IT. Replace them.

    Until you can treat all your employees with respect, you won't be able to keep anyone.
