    Pros

    Exposure to everyday medical technology and working on important projects for a company that has large market share.

    Cons

    Management is out of touch with the work force. No trust between business units, and in some cases, there's actual turf wars that have been raging for years. Quality processes are bureaucratic and ineffective. Managers turn a deaf ear to quality concerns from their engineering subordinates.

    Advice to Management

    Give more credence to technical experts.

    Pros

    Traveling. Lots and lots of it. From within the US and to Canada and other countries when we are needed.

    Cons

    The chances of getting a permanent position for contractors are very slim. There are contractors that have been with the company for more than 5 years and have not been offered a permanent position within the company.

    Pros

    Excellent products, work life balance. and great people. Management allows Sales reps the autonomy to do their job but there to support if needed.

    Cons

    Hard to track progress due to delay in incentive plan and quota. Future is slightly cloudy because of BD acquisition .

    Advice to Management

    Continue to keep the employees in mind when determining the direction of the company.

    Pros

    Everything is structured, it's clear what your job is, work life is very relaxed you can come into work whenever you want

    Cons

    gets dull at times. working on the patient care unit all the time, there isn't that much grow in learning

    Pros

    Nice benefits, relaxed atmosphere for my division

    Cons

    Only seemed to concentrate on the big ticket divisions, paid little attention and support for smaller start up divisions

    Pros

    Overall, good company to work for.

    Cons

    It's too bad they don't treat similiar departments equally. It all depends who you work for and what department you fall under. Monthly onsite happy hours, luncheons, rewards, work for home opportunities only for certain departments. Other departments you don't get any perks. Not even a desk calendar.

    Pros

    Good people (mostly) working there.

    Cons

    They had stealth terminations; every couple of weeks you'd hear of some more people you know being laid off. Never knew when or if you'd be next.

    Pros

    Broad product set with lots of opportunities for growth by moving roles within teams / business units. Strong focus on patient safety and helping to improve the safety of caregivers and patients.

    Cons

    Lack of innovation - lots of lip service but most projects are evolutionary extensions of sacred cow projects.
    Too much focus on short term revenue opportunities and not enough long term strategic planning / execution.
    Management promotes those who micro-manage and are punitive. Lip service about collaboration and employee satisfaction when what they really want is results at any cost.

    Advice to Management

    Focus on the long term sustainable competitive advantages
    Cultivate true innovation by starting new projects and investing in new technologies / opportunities
    Stop micro managing - believe in your teams, give them freedom to be responsible

    Pros

    Great people to work with, lots of flexibility, decent support from managment.

    Cons

    No real opportunity for growth depending on the department. Not sure what will happen with BD. Too much uncertainty. Would have recommended to a friend but now it might be a risk depending on office location.

    Pros

    The work that we do goes to saving lives and other important things. The people are nice to work with for the most part.

    Cons

    It seems lately that the only thing that the management wants to do it squeeze margins and save money. This is fine, but when it is your ONLY goal, this is not very positive

    Advice to Management

    Stop worrying ONLY about your bonuses, and outsourcing AMERICAN JOBS.
