I have been working at CareOne full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

A paycheck. Less than average pay, but it's still a paycheck

    Cons

Employees treated poorly, at times suffer verbal abuse from management. Overworked then blamed for mistakes that arise. High employee turnover. Long term employees who remain unhappy, tolerates the BS, then talks about leaving when it becomes too much, this time I'm really leaving though.

I have been working at CareOne

    Pros

A beautiful facility inside and out, but ugly and unprofessional hierarchy.

    Cons

Everything is a con, literally! It starts at the top and the vile seeps its way down. So sad to see some great employees unappreciated. It is abusive in the demands put on people and the standards that they are expected to upheld. Neglect for so long and the panic button goes on during survey time. Miracles are expected in short periods of time, when the hirer ecelcon did not do their jobs, when they should for years. It is never their fault and anyone that dares to speak up is terminated. You lost a great manager. Let's see if number four in a year lasts!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look at "upper" management and their lack of concern until fingers are pointed. Maybe you need to sit back and realize that it might not be the underlings committing the mistakes, but your so called supportive team. You Have to hold them responsible for years of not paying attention to the details and then expecting things to change overnight. Corporate supports this behavior too and it is so sad. Do you want your company viewed as the place that employees live in fear each day thinking they might be fired? I just watched it happen and I am anxious if I am next. This is no way to live. You are letting go the wrong people.

    Pros

Beautiful Place to work but deceiving

    Cons

Employees are all two faced always talking behind each other backs and then showing a fake smile. Employees continue to bad mouth the company in front of other employees. Employees act like they like their job but are UNHAPPY!!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You might want to consider talking to your Employees as Human Beings and not ROBOTS! Such a BIG CORPORATION AGAIN ITS ALL ABOUT CENSUS AND $$$$$.

I have been working at CareOne

    Pros

You will make great friends with your co-workers. They are the only ones that understand your plight.

    Cons

Do not take a job with Care One unless you are a sadist! You will never receive a "thank you" or "good job", unless you are part of the in-crowd. Lying, no support, and unrealistic expectations are the norm.
When the Administator is friends with key management members your hands are tied as far as making improvements. Your side will never be taken. Report something to corporate and your days are numbered. An open door policy means anything you say in confidence is immediately revealed and the clock will start ticking on your days left. The real workers are unappeciated and treated like dirt. Most. management does their eight hours and leave. Their is no true committment on their part, but will beat others into submission to make sure everything is covered. There is a difference between delegation and abuse. Do not ever dare question their archaic tactics.
Overtime is forbidden, so you will have to do someone else's job & your own or you have to send them home early on another day (labor laws). So, you pay the price either way. The turnover is awful and maybe they should start looking at their Administrator than just firing good hard working people that really care. You are targeting the wrong people! Corporate should open their eyes to what is really going on, instead of taking the word of their Administrator. It is pretty sad, when the employees refer to it as "Care None" or "Care for No One". Make your money, but don't destroy lives in the process. Wake up Care One! You would be a fool to every take a job with this company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You need to start looking at your Administrators under a microscope. They clean up their story or get rid of anyone that dares to question the system. They want no witnesses. Did you ever thing that those that have the guts to speak up are doing it because they care? Instead, they are looked at as troublemakers. You should take a different view of those people because they are the ones in the trenches that really care. Most people in the front office are cowering, frustrated, and paranoid workers. What way is that to work each day because of a tyrant with a fake smile and fake comment?
Your regional people are unprofessional in their tactics and unethical. They set a poor examples to those watching. Watching one of them violently kick open a door in front of the whole staff is so unprofessional and sends a very bad message. Don't underestimate the staff, they know more than you think and are disgusted by it. You are for profit, but not allowing overtime, making the managers pick up the slack & do their own jobs too or sending anyone approaching overtime home early on another day is ruthless and disrespectful of all involved (labor laws). Appreciate the "minions" (that is how they are treated) because they are the ones providing the real services to the Residents. Listen to them without them suffering repercussions and find out, what really goes on. You will be shocked! Your upper management gives Care One a bad name. You will lose good people because of a lying, sneaky, disrespectful, and backstabbing Administrator that will try to make themselves look good, no matter, what the cost. You have the potential for a great company, but not as long as you have people like this in charge! You need to make changes fast or ruin your reputation. That includes your regional corporate people! It is all so sad and disheartening. Not knowing if you sre being fired every day is the worst torment!

I worked at CareOne full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Friendly coworkers, compensation was consistent with other jobs with the same title.

    Cons

Management is extremely poor at this company. The culture of the office is to stay afloat, not to excel. There was minimal training and poor communication. People are walking around joking about being fired, which creates a negative feeling in the office.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give people a chance to learn and treat them with respect and they will deliver.

I have been working at CareOne

    Pros

Close to major highways , it's a paycheck benefits after 90 days. The A&P and Walgreens are close by. Free coffee.

    Cons

This is the worst run company ever. There is no morale it's a very depressing environment. Anyone with the slightest morale leaves this place. The people that stick around for years are so messed up. Your micromanaged and treated like an animal, actually animals are treated better. I don't recommend this company at all. The reputation of the company is so bad im embarrassed to tell people that I work here.

I worked at CareOne as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

McDonald's is next door and the covered parking.

    Cons

Micromanagement, working in fear that you will be fired, feels like a prison, nobody talks to anybody during the work day, you sit down in the morning and you leave at 5:30, you're every move is being watched and possibly recorded so don't even think about answering that text, MICROMANAGEMENT! I wasn't there long enough to give more negatives. This place will make you lose your mind in a very short period of time. In general, the environment and values here are all wrong and that is why this place just sucks. I had the freedom to walk out...sadly some cannot do that.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Micromanagement does not work...that is the first thing you will learn at a reputable business school. Respect your employees and they will give you the best results. You have to realize that the employee is not the enemy and that everybody is on the same page and wants to succeed. This place needs an overhaul that's all I can say.
