I have been working at CareSouth full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Still has salaried positions and not just per diem. Documentation is on computer instead of paper.

    Cons

Pay is average and mileage reimbursement isn't the best. Productivity is more important than quality patient care and continuity of care.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to field staff. They really can give good advice on how to improve things.

I have been working at CareSouth full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

The concept of helping the older population is nice but the reality is way off!!!!

    Cons

No help for office management, pay is terrible and treatment of employees is equally terrible, intense micro-management, focus is on bottom line not patients/clients, constant lies from upper-management, corporate culture of prejudice and unfairness

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to the employees or better yet, get back into the field to really see what is really going on instead of sitting in your cozy offices micro-managing from your desks'

I worked at CareSouth part-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Uniformity. Horrible pay. Wish it was like it once was.

    Cons

Hostile work environment from upper management. Enjoyed making people cry and no concern for employees well-being once new COO took over.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to staff and look who is hired for key roles in the company

I have been working at CareSouth full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

CareSouth is a great place to work. They have always been great at home health and they are now really starting to focus on private duty.

    Cons

They are growing and there is a lot work to be done regarding operations. Its exciting though!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Thank you for being real! Truely caring, but honest enough with employees to run a good business too.

I have been working at CareSouth full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Pay is decent and they reimburse for mileage

    Cons

    Corporate micromanager
Unwilling to buy supplies for rehab
Very nurse and Physical Therapy oriented, unsupportive of OT or ST
    Healthcare benefit is lousy
All the ceu's offered are for nursing only and they are unwilling to reimburse for ceu's
They have gone thought three OT's in three years

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Work on creating a team orientation among field staff, count mileage toward productivity
Stop being penny wise and pound foolish

I have been working at CareSouth full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Local office is supportive, great staff, paperwork requirements are average, caseload is usually not too bad. There is a quota, but there is no punishment or award for making it or not making it. Fortunately the front line worker does not tend to have to deal with corporate level too often. For a home health company it is not as bad as some and others are better.

    Cons

Corporate level micromanages. All communication is top down and tech support is poor. Tends to put our policy without assist to implement or create support for it. Explanations for policies are totally lacking.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Provide increased support at the mid management level to allow some enthusiasm in the workplace. Corporate level has one way communication entirely with the emphasis on punitive.

    Neutral Outlook
