Pros
Benefits are fantastic!
Some great people work at the company & really care about helping customers & their co-workers overcome sales objections
Ability to earn good commissions
Cons
A lot of Senior Managers & middle level managers are snobs & they act very fake!
Tired of some managers getting away with ordering people around that don't even report to them.
Initial fast promotions, but unless you play in WVU group, you will hit a ceiling.
Employee relations team just lectures & isn't helpful.
Advice to Senior Management
To sustain your most important asset, your people, you need to take a good look at mid-level managers effectiveness.
Pros
able to learn a lot about the ins and outs of various industries and markets.
Cons
the starting salary is very low and hard to deal with if you do not hit your bonus.
Advice to Senior Management
more hands on one on one training instead of all group trainings
Pros
- good benefits and perks
- decent training in if you are in the right programs
- good commission plan
Cons
- tons of cliques, if you are the flavor of the month with management, life is great, but when you aren't it is pretty clear and they are on to the next
- high turnover
- young managers that love power
Advice to Senior Management
Promoting young managers is great and provides tons of opportunity, but these people need training....some of them are just high on power providing an awful work experience for those on the team.
Pros
Some of the pros of working at CareerBuilder is a good benefits package. All standard benefits are given along with an employee wellness stipend that can be applied to things such as gym memberships and classes. You will also learn getting used to a grueling sales position, so in the future, you wont be in for a surprise if you continue with sales.
Cons
Salary is awful, and they will find all kinds of ways to get out of paying bonuses (reassigning accounts etc.) Turnover is extremely high, and it works well for them. You dont make commission based on how much you sell, rather if you hit sales goal or not. That way you can fall just short, and you would still be making the company money, but since you missed goal, you wont get your bonus. To that regard, most new salespeople get fired, quit, and the account just gets funneled to the top
Advice to Senior Management
Management needs to be more organized with leads and stop dumping the same leads in everybody's lead pool. They do it purposely, but its incredibly annoying calling a lead, only to be yelled that they have been called on 5 times that morning.
Pros
Careerbuilder is a great place to really develop your skills and launch your career. Ive had nothing but encouraging managers.
Cons
Salary is equal to or slightly less than other businesses.
Pros
Good benefits, great place to learn
Cons
Unrealistic quotas can be daunting
Advice to Senior Management
solicit more feedback from employees
Pros
CareerBuilder provides an aggressive competitive base salary and commission structure. Have the ability to travel across the US to visit clients.
Cons
CareerBuilder has unrealistics expecations and demands on your metrics. They also tend to promote successful sales representatives that don't necessarily make for great managers. The manager you work with will make or break your experience at CareerBuilder
Advice to Senior Management
Successful sales people don't necessarily make successful managers - try to develop leaders that can motivate employees versus being condescending managers that have not lead before in their career.
Pros
Working up here has it's ups and downs.
Cons
Sense of entitlement from sales reps
Pros
uncapped commissions, freedom to run your own business
Cons
management is stuck on quantity vs quality when it comes to how many phone calls you make per month, training is horrible
Advice to Senior Management
management needs to focus on quality of dials, better account plans, and realistic expectations of sales professionals, improve training for sales and managers
Pros
1. Sounds corny, but I take great satisfaction in knowing that my efforts will help someone get a job.
2. The benefits are great.
3. The company culture.
4. The pay
Cons
1. Training could be improved.
Advice to Senior Management
Keep up the good work.
