Pros
the company offers clients an excellent value prop, trains, develops and motivates employees and offers stellar benefits. The sales culture is created to encourage team work.
Cons
As a new hire in a new industry you must be extremely resourceful in order to become to properly learn and become acclimated to the business. That being said, you must learn quickly in order to sell and hit qouta. Managers are hard working, but stretched too thin in terms of providing support to their team.
Advice to Senior Management
You're doing a great job in terms of motivating all employees. I'm excited to be here and looking forward towards developing myself professionally.
Pros
Competant Leaders that help you grow.
Solid infrastructure allowing for a quick sales cycle on new products.
People work together and share ideas.
Cons
"TPS" reports, a lot of time consuming data entry for management.
High incremental quotas make it very difficult to succeed year after year.
Pros
There are some great people working there
Cons
There is a lot of young people at the organization with little experience
Advice to Senior Management
They are doing a good job, but I think they should try and talk to everyone not just the management team.
Pros
Benefits
Upward Mobility
Competitive advantage over rest of industry
Somewhat international
C Level Execs are some of the best - especially Matt Ferguson
Cons
Comp for non-sales could be higher
Non-sales people could help build multi-million dollar revenue streams but aren't rewarded the same financially as the people who sell it
Culture is a pro and a con at times
Personal grudges can be held
Advice to Senior Management
Leaders are important but middle-management and individual contributors are the ones who deliver and do whatever is asked. More needs to be shown to them, especially on the product side.
Pros
Money, good group of co-workers, ability to learn a lot about your clients business
Cons
Negative comments from management like "what did you get sprayed with sales repellant?"
95% of management will literally do nothing
Pros
Work life balance, career path goals, a great deal of recognition, great compensation, in short the take very good care of their top performers.
Cons
Sometimes I see that it takes some time for promotions even though promotions may be due, however this is most likely a problem with every company.
Advice to Senior Management
Always be working to promote your employees, often I see people in upper level positions in sales that aren't top performers and should be replaced with fresh hungry sale people.
Pros
- Young Company
- Growing Company
Lots of energy. Lots to learn.
Cons
- Young Company
- Growing Company
Because of this, management was given to those who are great sales people rather then great leaders. These were people who were drinking the CB juice and had absolutely no experience anywhere else. They're only way to teach was to show how they were sucessful two years back in another economy. Management were not people you could expect to learn from.
Advice to Senior Management
Matt and Brent were the backbone of the company. They were smart. They were innovative. They liked their job. Everyone else just ran around yelling at you to do whatever was the new trick of the day.
Pros
CB provides top notch benefits, great yearly trips for all employee's and salaries are very competitive generous. Moving internally is relatively easy, upper management is very transparent and approachable.
Cons
Its an extremely high pressure cut through atmosphere in the sales groups. I'd only recommend pursuing a career here if you are in any other group other than inside sales.
Pros
compensation package- If you are performing you will make great money
Cons
Changes occur at the speed of light
Advice to Senior Management
a great sales person does not necessarily make a great manager
Pros
* You can build your career with hard work
* Do your job, do it right and you gain respect in the industry
* The sky is the limit (if you want to aim low)
Cons
The only downside is if you are not fit for this industry you are going to drown. It is fast paced and you get paid in accordance to how hard you work. I have seen many salespeople come in thinking that it is going to be an easy ride, that all they have to do is pick up the phone and the money just comes jumping out at you. Well, if you dont know how to create business relationships and know how to handle people hanging up on you, well, you may be a better fit in some paint department at a local hardware store.
