I have been working at CareerBuilder
Pros – Good base and commissions. Realistic quota's. Not easy but good quality outside solution sellers make good money.
Cons – Selling to HR professionals is not the most enjoyable work. They often don't get the big picture. Often have to sell outside of HR and then implement with the team you just went around. But we truely do help our clients....so you feel good about your product/company.
Advice to Senior Management – Keep innovating. You do a great job provide tools for us to succeed.

I worked at CareerBuilder
Pros – This is a hip, young company that makes money hand over fist. We had a lot of latitude to be creative and do things our own way.
Cons – The compensation system for Senior Account Managers was TERRIBLE. You could be at 99% for the month every month, resulting in 99% for the year, and receive only your base pay of $30k. 100% was $85k. I knew 2 guys out of 40 that made their "goal" for the year.
Advice to Senior Management – Fix the compensation system. Focus less on "dials" or "phone time" and more on sales results. Control costs. Act professional.

I worked at CareerBuilder
Pros – Easy to get a job there. Very brandable company name. Free adjacent parking. It's very hard to achieve quota with and really make money with there compensation plan.
Cons – The call list is recylced, you will call on customers who have been called on by your other team members. Very poor training
Advice to Senior Management – I beleive that you shoule have a stronger lead system, training preparation, and more informed management staff. Need to have a better compensation structure

I have been working at CareerBuilder
Pros – Most robust benefits package I have seen a company offer. "Disciplined freedom" is more than just a value; everyone is encouraged to innovate and try new things.
Cons – If you are not in sales, the pay is below average compared to industry standards. While change is a good thing, it happens a bit too often in terms of corporate structure and job titles.
Advice to Senior Management – Try to communicate big changes more often and on a wider scale. Other than that, keep up the good work!

I have been working at CareerBuilder
Pros – pay, team, growth potential, market leader, company is poised to be agile in a ever changing market place where change is constant
Cons – No real down side, organization gives back what you put into it. Need to be a dedicated sales professional in order to succeed.
Advice to Senior Management – Keep doing what you are doing. Contiue to listen to the field and build out programs that will enhance the employer and candidate experience and continue to gain market share and compensate for a job well done.

I have been working at CareerBuilder
Pros – CareerBuilder is a great place to work with many opportunties to learn new skills and to advance. You have to take the initiative though to get what you want out of it. They have great benefits and a great culture.
Cons – Communication can sometimes get lost because we move so quickly and some groups don't see the value in communicating with other groups often enough. It is hard sometimes keeping the 'doors open' when we have HQ in Chicago but all of Technology and Customer Care is in Atlanta.
Advice to Senior Management – I think our leadership handled the poor economy in a great way. They should continue to think of innovative ways to solve problems and keep ideas fresh. It will get harder and harder to do as the company continues to grow.

I have been working at CareerBuilder
Pros – Lots of leads, good company and lots of resources.
Cons – Very hard quota, especially this year with a recession. Its hard work, but the pay and benefits are good.
Advice to Senior Management – Fire the managers who sold in the easy times, they dont know what its like with 10,000 competitors

I have been working at CareerBuilder
Pros – A young and dynamic company. Things are constantly changing - this could be a pro or con, depending on the changes and how they affect you.
Industry leader. Working for the #1 company in the online recruitment industry is helpful.
Cons – Very political and very silo'ed. Who you work for and who in management likes you for has an enormous impact on the likelihood of you being able to advance in the company.
Did not handle the recession well. Lots of mixed messages and constant change that has left many people confused or insecure in their jobs.
Very distributed workforce, which leads to a lot of breakdown in communication.
Advice to Senior Management – Senior management needs to show a greater interest in communicating directly with line employees.
They also need to show a greater interest in developing their non-sales employees. Career paths for those who aren't in sales are often murky and non-sales compensation is well below industry averages across the board.

I have been working at CareerBuilder
Pros – Benefits best I have ever had from any company
Good money when hitting quotas
Great learning experience and training
Cons – Accounts where distributed over silly contests not actual sales skills or customer experience
NOT CUSTOMER FOCUSED! TIme and time again I would get on the phone with my Lead and they wouldn't hear anything about the customer and would just push unnecessary product.
Advice to Senior Management – Be real Be human

I have been working at CareerBuilder
Pros – The best working atmosphere I have ever had. Young, positive, and upbeat workforce. Careerbuilder offers great benefits, provides the perfect work/life balance, and genuinely cares about their employees.
Cons – CareerBuilder isn't known for high salaries. However, I've considered myself to be lucky. Happiness, to me, is worth alot. I believe me, I was very happy at CareerBuilder.
Advice to Senior Management – Keep staying innovative. Don't loose the "personality" of CareerBuilder to scripts or cookie-cutter designs. In other words, keep doing what you do best!
