    I worked at Caremark

    Pros

Employees are very friendly. Management style is excellent, and very organized. Managers provide frequent reviews on employees. Pay is decent.

    Cons

The workload is very heavy. May need to put in additional hours. Certain departments within the company are organized differently.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Good place to work overall.

    Recommends

I have been working at Caremark full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

A large company with job stability.

    Cons

Management makes changes and implements new processes without considering how it will affect the employees that do the job on a daily basis.
Considering how large the company is they are very unorganized internally, and do not work as a cohesive unit.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Speak with the teams actually do the job before implementing new processes.
Hold all departments responsible for process failures.
    Improve communication.

I have been working at Caremark full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

I would not recommend this company to a friend.

    Cons

CVS Caremark has definitely changed over the last few years and not for the better. They are scraping the bottom of the barrel to find people to work for this company. Several good qualified people have left the company and the people hired to replace them are not qualified.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to the employees, have roundtables with employees that are having issues not just employees that will answer questions to keep upper management satisfied. Offer more incentives for employees that work above and beyond expectations. Promote qualified knowledgeable employees not by popularity.

I have been working at Caremark full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Team members are very supportive of each other. There is a very strong commitment to clients and business partners.

    Cons

Employee survey is a joke. We were told to only look at items to send to upper management when there is so much wrong within the department.
Middle management cares about stats. It doesn't matter if everyone is working 50+ hour weeks and getting the work done on time and with quality if some arbitrary stats are not being met.

I have been working at Caremark full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Only pro working for this company is it is close to my home.

    Cons

Corporate is only concerned about stock prices. Not employees. No heat. Very dirty, unhealthy work environment. Constantly bullied by management. Threat of loss of job hangs over everyones head, even the very best of workers. Told never to call corporate.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Happy employees are productive employees. You have hard workers, who take pride in their job. The atmosphere robs them of that.

I have been working at Caremark full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

NONE - bad pay, bad director, his boss is even worse and mediocre benefits

    Cons

Gigantic incompetence and mishandling of resources. Directors have complete disregard to most basic software engineering principles. Management is hell bent on using inept contractors and the whole department managing caremark.com is failing miserably. Internal staff if fleeing the caremark.com portal and more inept contractors come to "do the work"

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop kidding yourself and face the music... You decimated FTEs and incompetence from Sapient is just outrageous.
