I have been working at Caritas St. Elizabeth's Medical Center

    Pros

Everyone is friendly and makes you feel at home.

    Cons

Too many changes within the hospital that I don't believe are beneficial towards patients.

Hang in there, Christopher O'Connor is the breath of fresh air and vitality that is so needed at the Medical Center

I have been working at Caritas St. Elizabeth's Medical Center

    Pros

St. Elizabeth's Medical Center for a large city hospital still has that small community hospital feel about it. A tight family feel and although keeping up with technologies that the larger hospital can afford, the personal touch and interaction with the patient is something that has become lost in many healthcare settings but still exist here.

    Cons

We have been been witnessing declining volume while attempting to compete with the more hi/tech glitzy hospital in metropolitian Boston. An aging infrustuture and a lack of fancy digs makes it a challage to draw in new patients

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take a chance, take a different approach. Dare to be different and not fit in to the typical healthcare model.

I have been working at Caritas St. Elizabeth's Medical Center

    Pros

Location, surrounding community. Many of the people employeed are kind and caring. The hospital has recently been purchased and it seems the purchasing group has invest a lot of money into the facility.

    Cons

Low pay, little to no recognition for hard/good work. When issues arise it seems like everyone is focused on covering their own butts instead of actually taking care of the issue. Once they issue is settled it then turns into a huge " who did it" session. It also seems that those who work the least get the most. Promotions are more who you know then how well you do. Senior management is not trust worthy and this is well known throughout the organization.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Your going to get more work and less recognition while managing in St. Elizabeth's. The work enviroment is less professional and more "High school" like then anything else.
