One of the best! People are extremely friendly, helpful and kind.

Manager, Research (Former Employee) Ottawa, ON (Canada)

ProsThe utter respect that each person shows one another - from the front line cashier, to students, to employees to the Professors!

ConsUnfortunately the group I worked with didn't have any further funding to continue to employ me. Each division is a like a mini company so it all depends on the amount of sales each dept. can create as each dept. funds its own employees.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep up the great atmosphere!

Gained valuable experience working as a CSTAC TA!

Teaching Assistant (Former Employee) Ottawa, ON (Canada)

ProsYou learn the material better when you are teaching.
Good pay for a Bachelor's Comp. Sci. student.

ConsLittle time to prepare for office hours for five courses (CSTAC TAs only).
SOME professors do not collaborate with the TAs enough.

Great research internship in engineering department at university.

Research Assistant, Department of Electronics, Carleton (Current Employee) Ottawa, ON (Canada)

ProsGood opportunity to gain relevant experience in field and work closely with professors on their research work. Found I learned much in how research is conducted as well. Both my supervisor and colleagues were very friendly and a joy to work with.

ConsFelt at the start that it was task-by-task work, with little option for us interns to try out new ways of solving problems. (This only came towards the end, when we had more experience in the field.)

Graduate studies - very good opportunities

Graduate Student (Current Employee) Ottawa, ON (Canada)

    Prosgood opportunities for personal growth;

Consuniversity administration difficult to work with - they can take 2 months reimbursing money that they over-charged students by mistake, but students are expected to provide that money within days

    A great University.

Student (Current Employee) Ottawa, ON (Canada)

ProsCarleton University offer one of the best student to professor relation I have ever heard of.

ConsCould be considered as fairly small in comparison to sister school U of O. It is however very easy to get around the campus as a result of this.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep up the good job.
