Pros
Free movies and fun environment. It is a great place to work while going to school. Management is great about working around school schedules.
Cons
The bad part is having to be able to work nights holidays and weekends. The hours can. Be late if you're not a night owl it's not for you.
Advice to Senior Management
I have no advice to management. It is always fair. Senior management could listen a little more to middle management.
Pros
You can advance to a larger theatre if your willing to move and put up with a lot.
Cons
Upper management makes random illogical decisions which you must carry out at a moments notice.
Pros
Free movies, pay is decent, hourly staff is generally very kind and competent, some staff leaders allow their "elevated" position to go to their heads.
Cons
Senior management has no clue what is going on, taking personal time off is discouraged, hours are VERY dependent upon if you can "up sell" the largest product sizes possible. Over all terrible place to work.
Advice to Senior Management
Don't talk down to your employees, and don't say you aren't trying to be a jerk, when in reality every time you say that you're being nothing but a jerk. The use of profanity in the work place is unacceptable. Stop it.
Pros
fun employees, and some managers.
Cons
worked there two year, and still have never received a raise.
managers can be mean!
they make up stupid rules, type them up on a piece of paper and tape it to the door
MIT, DM, and 1 of the assistant managers are crazy!!
write ups for stupid things (like taking a pen home on accident...yeah... a pen)
if you dont upsell you will probably get fired.
Pros
interaction with all sorts of diff people
Cons
employee & customer attitudes
favorites among ppl
drama
Pros
Relatively lax company
Promotion abilities
Lots of responsibility
Free Movies
Free Popcorn
Stability but not certainty
Pretty decent management and very cool company parties under the new upper management
Cons
Live in the middle of nowhere guaranteed
Long Hours
Low Pay even at the highest of levels
High stress environment
Advice to Senior Management
Improve inner company comunications and incorporate better planning into even the smallest of ventures. Attention to details. Give more regular performance reviews all the way down the ladder as lack of information and lack of teaching and review keeps many locations from performing as well as expected.
Pros
Scheduled busy times are easy to plan for. Not hard to learn what all to do. Capable of having fun while being productive.
Cons
Start out at minimum wage. Customers can be rude. Having to upsell gets annoying especially with customer complaints about it.
Advice to Senior Management
Be fair to all employees. Treat them like the people they are and how they deserve. Take it seriously but know it's not the end all be all of life.
Pros
The Co-workers are ok sometimes.
Cons
Repetition. It is very repetitive.
Advice to Senior Management
None
Pros
Free movies......can't complain about that
Flexible scheduling almost always
Co-workers were great
Pay is somewhat decent if you're a high school student or college student looking for extra cash.
Decent hours. Fridays and Saturdays are usually the longest shifts which is good if you need the money.
Midnight showings are usually fun because you can interact with the customers until it's time for them to go into the theater. I worked the Harry Potter 6 one and it was fun. We did trivia games about the series to keep customers entertained why they were waiting in line.
Easy job all around. I was an usher so all I did was take tickets and clean theaters. Concession is a little more demanding. Worked there a couple times
Cons
Had to pay for concession items without a discount. But the tickets for movie are free, so guess you have to pay for something.
Pay isn't enough to make a living off of. The highest check I ever got was over 500 dollars, but less than 600.
Don't get out until after midnight at times, especially Fridays or Saturdays.
Pros
Fun first time job, great team, free movies and food, time off whenever needed, good experience for future jobs, free drinks
Cons
horrible management, low pay, too much work for such little pay, work on holidays, work on midnight showings until 2am, not enough hours
Advice to Senior Management
to give out more hours and allow promotions to those who are in need and worthy of them also a higher pay rate
