Great people to work with around you. You can just walk up to someone and there are experts in every field around.

    Cons

Lots of work to keep up with and hardly any time for yourself. However, you learn a lot !

    Pros

    - CMU is a top notch school - Pittsburgh rules - Pittsburgh is not as bad as you think it is - Seriously it's not. It used to be super polluted and majorly run-down, but now it's really nice and not polluted at all. - Lots of cool restaurants and small breweries and cool neighborhoods - Cheap rent! - "Seasons"!

    Cons

Genuinely no cons. If you're gonna do grad school, CMU, in Pittsburgh, is a fantastic place to go.

I have been working at Carnegie Mellon University (More than 5 years)

    Pros

CMU is Top 1 in Computer Science and Top 4 in Computer Engineering. There are great professors and they are always thinking out of box. That's why there are always brand new ideas coming out of here. Peers here are extraordinarily smart and hard working. Usually you learn a lot from peers. There are various assistance helping International students to develop their career including English courses, free services and tutoring in academic writing, preparation of presentation, job application, etc. Gym and swimming pool are fantastic.

    Cons

Everyone works so hard so it is very stressful. There are no good cantine on campus. Apartments around are so expensive and you may have to share with other students. Course workload is extremely high.

    Advice to Management

We really need better cantine/restaurant on campus.

I have been working at Carnegie Mellon University full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I feel like I work with an amazing group of people. They are not just my co-workers, they are also my friends. I am not afraid to come into the office every day, and in fact look forward to seeing everyone!

    Cons

The work I am currently doing is very mind-numbing. It has gotten so bad during the summer that I have considered looking for a new job because I just can't stand coming in to do mostly nothing.

    Advice to Management

Change how the summer works. Certain full-time positions are left with nothing to do. Also, have more regular meetings with people. We feel like we aren't in the loop and that our managers don't really know what we're working on, either.

  11. Easiest on campus job

I worked at Carnegie Mellon University (Less than a year)

    Pros

It's very flexible in terms of scheduling, and very easy to be a desk attendant

    Cons

Management is sometimes not the best to interact with, not the student managers, but the coordinators.
