Pros
Fun atmosphere, great manager, amazing employees. Great work/life balance.
Cons
Little communication between upper management and lower levels. Do not see an opportunity for growth, unless you put in numerous years of work. Very corporate and highly structure.
Advice to Senior Management
Communicate the goals and visions of your department. Give specialist more of a challenge and higher level thinking.
Pros
_cruise discounts
_paid time off and sick time after 90 days
_health insurance
Cons
_ poor management
_unrealistic rules about phone manner and time allowed off the phone in between calls
_treat employees unfairly
Advice to Senior Management
Treat your phone operators in the call center with more respect for what they do- they are the point of contact for Carnival and Guests.
Pros
IT and other support services were quite competent and very supportive of client-facing staff.
good training program, people respect each other.
A lot of good diversity related events are offered
Cons
Enhance knowledge sharing across teams.
The firm is going through a lot of change to enhance its competitiveness and efficiency
Advice to Senior Management
CCL presents a good challenging work environment, ample opportunity to excel. Compensation and raises could be betterKeep up the "fun" atmosphere.
Pros
I got to perform music 6 days a week for no more than 5 hours a day, leaving 19 hours to do mostly what ever I wanted. Meeting new people was great, and I had my own room with a person who cleaned up every day.
Cons
Performing that 4th to 5th hour really wears on a singer's voice when you do it 6 days a week. My voice was working properly only 4 days out of the week, and I had to adjust a set list to hit the notes.
Pros
They have great benefits
It was an overall young environment
If you're just getting out of high school and need a job while in school, go for it
Cons
Since it is an entry level position, they aren't willing to accommodate school schedules
Low pay
Advice to Senior Management
It would of been nice to get some more feedback. I was going to school at the time and was doing a pretty good job at sales. It would've been nice to hear just a little praise on a personal note, since I'm not really getting much financially.
Pros
Decent Benefits, Free Cruises, Good place to start a career.
Cons
Extremely Corporate, Zero flexibility in the job, No challenge or changes from day to day.
Advice to Senior Management
None, the job is what it is. Consider less corporatism in the management of PVP's.
Pros
-Cruises
-112 hours of PTO after working 6 months
-80 hours of sick time
Cons
-Pay
-Advancement
-No sales calls everything is automated now
-Constant changes
Advice to Senior Management
My advice to Carnival is to not forget about your employees who made the company to where it is today.
Pros
Good medical benefits for South Florida employer.
Cons
A lot of quality people have left because management does not recognize people's skills, talent and potential. Allocates resources poorly. Promotions are based on tenure instead of merit. There is an air of complacency and stagnation. It is not the place to be if you are ambitious, eager to lean and an out of the box thinker.
Advice to Senior Management
Recognize people's skills, talent and potential and allocates resources properly.
Pros
Carnival Corporation is a leader in the industry and a large firm. Yet in the typical corporate environment, it is possible to affect change. Ideas are always encouraged and well received by management. Change is in the air and those who are inflexible will miss out on a great journey.
Cons
There are always egos and empires everywhere.
Advice to Senior Management
Keep it up. Change is the key factor for success.
Pros
Corporate management recognizes extra effort put in by employees and rewards them accordingly with title promotions. The management bonus program is very generous.
Cons
Base salaries are low for the job responsibilities and titles compared to other organizations and for the Miami area itself. Communication between and within departments could stand some improvement.
Advice to Senior Management
Make sure that departmental changes are communicated to employees in the department and employees in other departments that are affected by the changes.
