ProsWorking for a growing company, its great to be able to think outside of the box and implement your own selling techniques within the store.

Everyone has the potential to bring outside ideas, and techniques that everyone in the company can learn so that they can become a company standard.

ConsNo having a company standard. No standard policies and procedures when it comes to in store practices from returns to processing and entering shipment.

Advice to Senior ManagementImplement the proper staff into fitting positions. When growing a company, you need to start off buy hiring people in that field first and then find the people from within the field that have the proper credentials. For example, dont hire a Chief of Finance from McDonalds because of his or her finance degree and or experience. Hire a Chief of Finance from Sephora or Body shop.

My experience working at Carol's Daughter has it's ups and downs

ProsCarol's Daughter has many loyal customers who have their favorites and will always come back.

Cons-Horrible turnove rate,a year or less
-Corporate doesn't implement rules, when they do its flexible for everyone and even customers
    -Terrible management
-No unity within the place of business nor at corporate
-Excuses for minor things that should be fixed

Advice to Senior ManagementHire people who are qualified and capable of doing the job on a corporate level and a store level. Also maintain a line of communication and understand that the company could be successful but without loyalty to employees on all levels it will never be calm and happy workers to equal more profit and ideas.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

    Horrible Place to Work

    Sales Associate (Former Employee)
    Jersey City, NJ

ProsLoyal customers (which helps a lot), small locations, popular products, good communication between stores, small company, easy access to upper management

Consnot enough coverage, high turnover, horrible management, disorganized, no corporate support, disrespect from management, no free/ personal time, no opportunity for advancement

Advice to Senior ManagementRespect is important in running a business. Treat your employees with respect. Respect the fact that they have outside lives. Upper management also needs to follow this as well. They need to listen more to the sales associates that work in the stores and stop playing favorites with the managers.
