The administrators are down to earth, warm, and friendly.

    Cons

The insurance plan for 2016 will be a high deductible plan.

We need a better insurance plan.

    Pros

To grow within, nurturing skills by learning something new through classes and webinars

    Cons

To be a part of as a whole no matter what position you work has been difficult

    Advice to Management

I would love to see a doctor sharing a lunch with coworkers no matter what position they whole ex: nurse assistants , etc.

    Pros

Relative job security with decent benefits

    Cons

Leadership not at all concerned with wear & tear on frontline staff as they enjoy perks of royalty

    Advice to Management

Turn the organization completely upside down. Allow the front lines to dictate tools needed to perform at higher levels. Start being servant leaders who visit with frontline staff to LEARN rather than leading from the Ivory Tower where the company aircraft await your beckoned call to fly you and your family to the Caribbean for R&R.

    Pros

For some departments, there is flexibility in schedules and the ability to telecommute. LiveWell benefits and events are also nice.

    Cons

Years ago, CHS truly cared about their employees. Over the last few years the organization has lost touch with the concerns of the employee. CHS tends to hire people for management positions that do not support the team but are instead only concerned with saving the organization money and their own upward mobility. Pay raises are low (average 1%) and benefits have been reduced. Overall compensation packages are below market. Staff are now required to prove their relevance to the organization in order to maintain their positions. It is sad to watch what was once a great place to work evolve into an uncaring corporate monster.

    Advice to Management

Please begin caring and supporting your employees. Begin truly listening to the concerns of the employees and take those concerns the upper level management. Take an interest in the employees' daily work.

    Pros

It was a wonderful patient oriented hospital that provided quality of care to our patients.

    Cons

There were not any cons for me.

  8. Overall a good place to work, not as generous with benefits as previous yrs but this seems to be the trend in healthcare

    Pros

Stable work environment, predictable treatment and compensation. Very good provider of healthcare and continually encourages employees to provide excellent care.

    Cons

Pay scale was balanced by generous benefits but pension has been discontinued and health insurance is expensive. Salaries have not kept up and are now below average. Promotions from within are harder to achieve than in the past.

    Advice to Management

Train and promote existing staff members to retain talent. Salary scale needs to be increased to retain employees. Continuing to reduce staff at the expense of patient care and increase capital expenditures is not a sustainable model for healthcare.

    Pros

The live well incentives are helpful with healthcare cost. This is a good benefit

    Cons

In a long term care building it would be helpful to have a business office on site to assist with finance and activity of the building.

    Pros

Great people to work with, very fair. I've moved up from being a pharmacy tech to a home infusion coordinator, it took me about 3 years to do this, most employees do not advance above their current position as every one is specifically trained for certain skill sets.

    Cons

Lack of opportunity for advancement within the branch that I currently work for. I would have to leave to advance my career.

    Advice to Management

Encourage teamwork and learning as much as possible from your staff.
