A great place to work if you don't rub anyone the wrong way, and can handle working in an environment that's not reaching its full potential.

I worked at Carousel Industries full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Drink beer in the office on Fridays, work closely with all departments. There is a nice little gym in the building, fresh fruit once a week, and a weekly yoga class... It's a growing business that behaves like a small business.

    Cons

You can ask five people the same question, and get five different answers. There is minimal direction when it comes to the job requirements.

Also, currently the case management system relies heavily on outlook. All of the systems leave huge margins for human error- a needless flaw.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Work smarter - not harder. If everyone had the same path to follow and clear expectations on what was required, there wouldn't be lapses or overlap in coverage.

    I worked at Carousel Industries

    Pros

Strong engineering and technical expertise from all areas. Good people and fun environment. It is basically running your own business so you need to stay focused and hungry.

    Cons

Very competitve industry. Multiple sales buckets that you have to hit to get yor full comission. Management seems to relate only to their East Coast operations

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Bring more engineers and technical expertise to your West Coast operations

I worked at Carousel Industries full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Eh...they can be flexible with you as long as you gave enough notice. The support staff was very knowledgable and the job itself is not too hard.

    Cons

You basically did everything for the salesman except wipe their behinds but who knows its been a few years since I worked there. Most of the management there just partied away after sealing a soft sale and dumped a huge multi million dollar project on you that you were than in charge of making deals with vendors.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You need more structure. Too much lax with how your salesman treated your loyal peons.

    I worked at Carousel Industries

    Pros

At this day and time they do not have many Pros. You are a number at this company with no loyalty. This use to be a GREAT company to work for but things have changed over the years. They claim to be the best at what they do but have very limited support behind the scenes.

    Cons

    No loyalty
    Management
    More VP's than actual employees
    VERY high turnover rates
Service is maxed out and over worked
This list could go on for days.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    SELL before it's too late

I have been working at Carousel Industries full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Work from home, one of the few companies offering full portfolio of technologies (voice/data/video). Strong relationships with established vendors.

    Cons

Sales team can be slow to learn new technologies, processes need work. Lots of legacy voice Account Executives that are struggling with newer video and data offerings. Because of east coast headquarters, west coast teams often get less attention and resources.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The resources need to be in place in order to grow sales, not the other way around. Bring on younger, more adaptable Account Executives to help grow the newer technology offerings.

    Cons

growing pains!! so many changes to the environment have everyone confused on their job scope. Gone Corporate.

    Pros

Friendly people. I am forced to write at least five words. I find the section "Pros" amusing because the people working at carousel are many things but not "Pros"

    Cons

Management, at all levels of the company, has no idea what they are doing. There is no plan and there is never any sense of direction or purpose. Every internal project i was involved in took forever and went nowhere because none of the groups can work together. There is a real feeling that there is no-one in charge.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Do something, anything. You have a company full of middle management who seem to have no responsibility to each other. Middle management does absolutely nothing.

    Pros

I was trusted to do my job without being micromanaged. Immediate supervisor was great, very supportive and did what she could to make my work go smoothly

    Cons

Not enough work in my area. After the contract (that I landed them) expired, they didn't find another spot for me within the company
