    Pros

Great co-workers, store discount. Good as a part-time job. Customers are mostly very nice.

    Cons

Some managers treat employees like flunkies.

    Advice to Management

There are a lot of bright, capable people working here who aren't treated very well. Managers should treat employees who work hard and smart with some respect.

    Pros

The only things I enjoyed were having some company benefits and interacting with the customers.

    Cons

This company I would not recommend working at long term for the rank and file staff. It does not do anything to promote from within.

    Advice to Management

I would recommend you put some incentives into place to improve moral with the entry level staff.

    Pros

A lot of my co workers are friendly and easy to get along with. Which makes my job more enjoyable.

    Cons

I don't like the management. They can be very rude & understanding. They all seem to have an attitude.

    Advice to Management

Be friendlier ! Treat people how you'd like to be treated

    Pros

Decent discount - 20% which is bumped up to 25% after 1 year of employment.

    Cons

Carson's doesn't appreciate their employees. They'll schedule you for ridiculous shifts which allow less than 5 hours of sleep in between shifts ie: midnight close, 5:30am open. There is a lack of respect by upper management.

    Cons

Full-Time employees would like their 37.5 hours back per week, not 32 hours per week!!!

    Advice to Management

Management needs to be consistant with the coupon policy!!

    Pros

Great quality company, good sense of teamwork, job training.

    Cons

The pay for the hours worked, minimum wage for a labor heavy job in stock/receiving

    Advice to Management

Pay should be higher for the labor of those who place and organize merchandise working the store and for those who unload the trucks.

    Pros

Co-workers are great! MOST customers are wonderful. Discounts are nice.

    Cons

Training was "Black Thursday/Friday!" Management treats sales staff like children, with no niceness, feels like grade school.

    Advice to Management

Notice who does what well and partner them with people that could use advice in weak areas. If the store closes no one would be surprised because there is no loyalty to the employees nor the customers.

    Pros

I cannot think of one single thing

    Cons

If you are a person in retail who is committed to providing a great customer experience, these stores are extraordinarily frustrating. There is such little payroll available that the operational tasks have to take precedence (or there would be nothing to purchase on the sales floor). As a result, customers get a terrible experience throughout most of the store. Also, I encountered the worst leadership I've ever worked with throughout a long retail career.

    Advice to Management

Even a small investment in labor would help alleviate the service-starved sales floor.
