    Advice to Management

    Pros

The customers enjoy the pizzas and subs. Always busy and the other employees are really friendly. Even the management seems really nice.

    Cons

Not all the employees listen to policy, or care to. Possibility for advancement seems difficult in rural areas due to lack of stores.

    Advice to Management

Offer more hours to better employees and move the bad ones to the shortest shifts.

I have been working at Casey's General Stores full-time

    Pros

I just started my job and the people are wonderful. They are offering me a higher position if I am interested and giving me the training right away. The pay is higher than expected as well.

    Cons

There are no cons that I can think of as of yet. We get great deals on food and I feel extremely respected.

I worked at Casey's General Stores part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Customers!!!!! I made friends with quite a few of the customers that came in. It's quite a simple job. You can cross train in kitchen or on the floor.

    Cons

Pay was minimum wage. Not really any room for advancement. There were plenty of times when you're by yourself and have a lot of stocking to do as well as take care of customers at the register. Usually close by yourself so that's a bit scary at times. Trying to call off was impossible. Whether you're sick or whatever is going on there was never anyone who cares to cover my shift.

    Advice to Management

Help your associates. Don't just sit in the office and "work on paperwork". Granted there may be a lot of paperwork but you can see in the camera if the register lines are backed up, help out!!!!

I have been working at Casey's General Stores full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great customer base in seemingly all stores in area. Coworkers are generally easy to work with. Casey's offers benefits to both full and part time employees.

    Cons

Management tends to not hold employees accountable for work not done. If employees are not careful, they'll be doing their own work, plus the work of others.

    Advice to Management

Hold all employees equally responsible. Corporate office needs to "plant" employees in stores to see 1st hand how area supervisors as well as district managers treat store level employees.

    Pros

Flexible Hours, Workload was not to heavy

    Cons

Co-workers were allowed to get a way with breaking the rules, no call no shows still kept their jobs

I have been working at Casey's General Stores (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Free drinks. Close to home.

    Cons

Do my work as well as others. Can't take a day off when needed, or even trade a day...or get into trouble for it. No advancement opportunities due to management bringing/hiring people from outside, rather than promoting from inside. Practically live at work. Can't be friends with co-workers outside of work. Casey's thinks they can tell you what you can and can't do with your own personal time. Pay is crappy too.

  10. Great Customers, Benefits, Lousy Management/Supervisors

I worked at Casey's General Stores full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Customers are very pleasant, benefits are wonderful, flexible work hours

    Cons

A lot of conflict within store, corporate does not help employees out at all if dispute happens with managment/supervisor (employee usually looses job or hours), no cosistantcy over rules, managment bends rules/policy when they want and enforces when and what they want no matter policy.

    Advice to Management

Be more approachable less controlling (you were an employee once), be fair and consistant with rules for EVERY EMPLOYEE INCLUDING YOURSELF.
