    Pros

Good benefits package for branch managers.

    Cons

Branch managers work lots of unpaid over time. 88 hrs min a week paid for 80. It took me a year to get a raise after I asked for one. No paid sick time. Unreasonable targets. Regional manager think way too much of then selves. Hard to hire good people because if wages offered.

    Pros

Colleagues encourage you when working, fairly new office to work in. Company is restructuring, and possibilities.

    Cons

Compensation is low compared to similar companies. The company policies are vague and need revision, financial picture is very unknown. Currently in CCAA proceedings.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Former Employee - Customer Service Representative in St. Catharines, ON (Canada)

    Pros

A little pay cheque every 2 weeks

    Cons

Upper management was driven by greed, regional managers kept stores understaffed and employees underpaid, we were debt collectors not customer service representatives. I was ashamed of the work I did, getting "temporarily" laid off was the kick out the door I needed

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Well, since most of you are now gone, nothing much to say, just wonder how you sleep at night....

    Pros

Only pros to this job are your Co-Workers if you end up with good ones.

    Cons

Everything, Lazy Branch Managers, Regional Managers and Corporate Office. Regional's think that they are better then anyone working in a store always putting down with never any appreciation. Corporate office is always trying to find new ways to weasel every last dime they possibly can out the their customers before getting caught. Pay sucks for the amount of crap they expect everyday and the second you don't fulfill those expectations the whole region knows it because you regional manager has posted it in an email to their whole region.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

get a better business plan and don't hire idiots for managers

Former Employee - Financial Customer Service Representative in Edmonton, AB (Canada)

    Pros

My fellow ex-co-workers. You get a break for two days a week (sometimes). Kept my bank account happy. That is all.

    Cons

Management could care less about the mental health of their employees. Forces CSR's in the Customer Service Center at the Corporate Office to practice illegal collection practices. Reprimanded for not calling debtors on the weekend. My manager said "we'll keep do this (calling Quebec debtors and on weekends) until someone tells us to stop.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire a different manager, maybe one that is more familiar with Cheque Cashing and customer service rather than one with a collections only background. Worst choice. I would have stayed had it not been for her...

    Pros

New management hears the pain points of the consumers and are putting plans in place to make some big and effective changes.

    Cons

May not necessarily be a con, but the pace is fast. If you can't keep up, you'll be left behind.
