I worked at Cash Store Financial part-time

    Pros

Great for students wanting to work around their study schedules
    Pay was decent

    Cons

    Poor management for department
    Gossiping
    Favouritism
Weekend shifts start very early in the am

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Professionalism of supervisor and office manager was very poor. Need to ensure appropriate people are hired. This may have changed by now because I'm referring to my experience a few years ago.

I have been working at Cash Store Financial full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Working as a team to hit targets and be sucessful, also there was always training on how to.

    Cons

Some of the cons are long work hours, low pay and hard to move up in the company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

They should do yearly reviews and pay increase.

I worked at Cash Store Financial part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

    Bright, clean office
Intimate work setting - great coworkers

The branch that I worked at was always very accomodating when it came to time-off and other requests. The mock database was helpful when training.

    Cons

    Some, if not most, clientele
    Tedious paperwork
    Low Pay

I found the training at the Cash Store to be very lack-luster. I was given a binder of what seemed to be outdated information, to essentially study.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try and think of more ways to make the company enjoyable, despite the pay and nature of the job.

I have been working at Cash Store Financial full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The best part of working at the Cash Store was doing the math for the loans and the cards and selling the products to the clients. It was fun and entertaining to try different techniques to get the sale.

    Cons

The company is going under. They stopped caring about their employees and started cutting budgets like crazy. I wasn't able to hire staff because I could not offer them a decent wage. I was too stresed and had to go on leave. They have no loyalty to their staff, I was there for 3+ years and they treated me terribly when I left.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay your staff a decent wage. Commend them for their efforts rather than focusing on all their failures. Come up with innovative, affordable products that enable people to move forward in life rather than hold them back.

I have been working at Cash Store Financial

    Pros

Good benefits package for branch managers.

    Cons

Branch managers work lots of unpaid over time. 88 hrs min a week paid for 80. It took me a year to get a raise after I asked for one. No paid sick time. Unreasonable targets. Regional manager think way too much of then selves. Hard to hire good people because if wages offered.
