I have been working at Casino Arizona part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

This is a great company to work for if you are looking for quick money as a server or bartender; there is very little stress as long as you keep your mouth quiet and mind your own business. Clock in, keep your head down, go home and have no issues. Great benefits for very little cost, awesome attendance policy and some great perks.

    Cons

Lots of work drama with management and coworkers; managers need to learn to stop using their "power" against employees they don't like. Management is completely clueless and run around like chickens with their heads cut off. This could be an amazing organization if management got on board; fortunately no one really needs to deal with management unless absolutely necessary.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't take your personal issues out on employees, like you they work for an organization, start thinking logically!

    Pros

Health and Dental Benefits are better than most with many wellness incentives available throughout each year.

    Cons

Hiring and transferring is based on who you are, rather than what you can do. Because of this there is usually one or two people in each department doing all the work for equal or less pay.

    Pros

You can make good money pretty quickly. If you are lucky enough to be full-time the benefits are not too bad. They keep taking more and more away every year but compared to other companies the benefits aren't bad. You also have the opportunity to have your education paid for.

    Cons

ABSOLUTELY no consistency in management. One thing is acceptable to one manager, but when it comes to another its not allowed. Management doesn't communicate to each other at all. The morale keeps going down every year because the employees aren't being listened to or appreciated. Unfortunately, if you have a family life kiss that goodbye cause they don't offer a good work/life balance. I have only seen the new CEO once...he doesn't walk around and introduce himself to employees. It seems like he is too high on the totem pole to speak to lower level employees. Last but not least, there is so much DRAMA! Its like being in high school again.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your employees! Offer a better work/life balance and morale will go up!

Good company but needs better management

I worked at Casino Arizona part-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Keep your own tips, great co-workers

    Cons

Management doesn't really care about rewarding long term part time employees by offering full time when available

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Reward your loyal, hard working extraboard dealers by giving them full time

    Pros

The money is really good, but watching them throw profit out the window is depressing. That profit could help support more full time jobs with benefits.

    Cons

Horrible call in policy, due to lazy people that they want to keep employed.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Learn the ins and outs of the business in order to keep the profit. Learn to comp more in order to keep your customers.

    Great place to work

I worked at Casino Arizona full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Everyone is super friendly and room for advancement. The lunch room has a lot of different choices. The vice president is awesome and caring.

    Cons

The hours can be tuff if you are new. Sometimes there can be two many people going for the same position.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay more attention to what's going on in some of the different departments. Start promoting people for positions because you see there hard work instead of having 50 people apply.

    Pros

Benefits even though they keep taking some away.

    Cons

Management has no clue how to run a business let alone a casino. Marketing is terrible. Company philosophy towards guests service is BS. They do not listen to anything guests or employees have to say.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Read "Leadership and Change". Start spending some money to improve business. Start treating your guests and employees like they matter.
