I have been working at Castle Bank full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Castle Bank has a good "family" vibe going to it. My branch manager and bankers are very personable and friendly, and genuinely care about their employees. They are pretty understanding and try to accommodate your schedule when they can.

    Cons

They are owned by First National Bank of Omaha. So all procedures and rules are handed down from this giant corporation, even when they make no sense or are counterproductive. You would think this would provide better resources/technology but the technology has only gotten more dated and difficult.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Upper management needs to support the lower level employees in their decisions more(especially when they are following the rules they were trained to follow). Most of the time they will back up the customer which makes the employee feel unappreciated and betrayed.

    I worked at Castle Bank

    Pros

Flexible schedules, great co-workers, learned the basics of banking, was exposed to many different types of personal and consumer accounts.

    Cons

Management is given, not earned, their salary is very, very low, there is no room for growth now that they are a division of FNBO.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay your employees based on how hard they work. I worked my butt off but made the exact same as the guy who did or knew nothing. Hire management that will stand their ground.
