Pros
The enviornment is comfortable which is very condusive to free idea sharing and collaboration resulting in quality deliverables. The work can be challenging which makes the days go by very quickly. Time off is very flexible.
Cons
The pay raise structure is rigid and un-appreciating. Exceptional work and dedication is rewarded with more work and responsibility. The monthly budget must be met which means weekends and holidays are at stake. Work-load is unevenly distributed. Some leadership has no interest in leading and others lead with a microscope.
Advice to Senior Management
Survey "associate scientist" salaries on glassdoor.com and make adjustments to team members' salaries. People are the #1 asset, not the investors.
Pros
steady pay check a great source of entertainment at times some room for advancement if you know the right people
Cons
Even when asked do not give your opinion. It 's really not wanted unless it matches their opinion. Management likes to preach team work and that all employees are equally important to the success of the company when in reality if you don't work in a certain area you"re looked down on and treated like scum.
Advice to Senior Management
Quit talking trash. Admit that you think non management employees are a dime a dozen and are easily replaced. Open your eyes the people you scorn are the same people who meet Your customer"s demands.
Pros
If you want to learn to perform different tests/instruments in a GMP environment, its a good place to start. Many projects to work on. People you work with are usually nice, understanding and respectful.
Cons
Too much politics and no room to grow or move up. Company puts a cap on how many can be promoted. Management can be a pain but they have bosses to report to as well. Communication between departments could be better. Health plan has a very high deductible which sucks.
Advice to Senior Management
Start promoting people and give increase raises to compensate for the demands of the company. No more politics. People will see that its worth staying.
Pros
Diverse work force; committed employees; variety of customer requirements; strong team spirit between departments;
Cons
Recent reversal on customer service as #1 priority; frequent management changes;
Advice to Senior Management
"The customer is always right" is an old adage that still bears up remarkably well, especially in a service-provider industry. Bottom-line success and customer service are not mutually exclusive, although that seems to be the opinion of the current Phila management team. Bottom line success will grow from customer (and employee) satisfaction.
Pros
While working at Catalent Pharma Solutions I appreciated the fact t hat the attorneys that I did support were very big on teaching an individual new to the Legal field the in's and out's about Corporate law within a Pharma company.
Cons
There was no disiplinary action for individuals who were disrespectful to their peers.
Advice to Senior Management
Make more ethical decisions that do not exude favoritism. Hold people accountable for their poor actions and attitudes.
Pros
Great concept of branding if applied appropriately and consistently.
Cons
Senior Management is lacking organizational, policies and motivational skills
Pros
convenient to home, I'm a long time employee'from the PCI days the over all face of this company has changed and not always for the better.
Cons
Management has a problem with their ears',THEY JUST DON'T LISTEN. The attitude is my way or the highway, you can be replaced in an instant, so why are we even having this conversation, now get back to work.
Advice to Senior Management
Get your act together. You preach team work but, don,t want to be involved in the game. You have good workers with years of experience, find out what's really on their minds.
Pros
The PTO and salary are satisfactory. Challenging work. Close to home and to restaurants. A great learning experience.
Cons
Management is oblivious to actual workloads of personel. A lot of politics everywhere in the company. A lot of backstabbing within coworkers. No development guidance whatsover, training programs are nonexistent. The only thing Senior Management cares is the big bonuses they get by exploiting their employees. The only reason I stay here is because there are almost no companies close by that would offer me the same benefits I get here.
Pros
Good compliance history, internal hiring emphasized, training opportunities available, decent benefits package, fair pto policy, good feedback during performance review, growth
Cons
Rushed / poorly managed project timelines
Advice to Senior Management
Overall good place to work
Pros
Catalent does provide a decent health care and dental plan
Catalent is convenient for travel from New Jersey, Philadelphia, etc
Cons
Lack of valid professional feedback: professional feedback is inaccurate and sparse at best. Management takes no interest in the great work employees do; focus entirely on trivial/minor professional issues. Evaluations are seen as an opportunity to devalue employees.
Work environment: very poor work environment with low moral and heavy politics. Everyone has one foot out the door. Individuals do not accept responsibility for their assigned tasks; resulting in others having to complete these assigned tasks for them.
Individualism: Individuals with no professional regard for the work assignments and professional work load of others. A "me" culture, not a "we" culture. Persons are only interested in their assignments/projects and therefore only value their priorities and not those of fellow coworkers.
Disconnected management: senior and executive management who are more concerned with the amount of paperwork on peoples desk (i.e. 5s) and whether people are using a standard desktop than on improving the morale of employees. All professional considerations, perks, and accolades restricted to senior management.
Advice to Senior Management
Focus on the employees instead of politics and superfluous management theory. With all departments understaffed and budget restraints, some degree of professional respect needs to be extended to the average "cubicle" worker.
