    Pros

Learning and working with analytics and working on fun hard engineering problems.

    Cons

Dealing with election cycles and the deadlines and planning they require. Don't particularly enjoy working with some of the "old" code, but hopefully soon only old code that exists will be new code I've written. ;)

    Pros

In a lot of ways, the work is it's own reward. Catalist is a big deal in the progressive community, I hope it starts to act that way.

    Cons

Senior management can occasionally be difficult to work with. I think more professionalism at all levels would be a good thing.

    Advice to Management

More consistency from management would be a good thing.

  8. Excellent place to start out in politics.

    Pros

Working for an excellent cause and truly making history. Members of the team are allowed to use all of their skills, so there's always interesting work to be done across the whole company. Most people in the company are gratious about talking through what they do, taking suggestions, etc. The people who work there all have interesting and varied backgrounds.

    Cons

Because it's a small company, there are limits on the advancement opportunities, and also very few fringe benefits. However, the management cares greatly about the lives of employees, and everyone there is a member of the team.

There could be a more formalized review process, clear project requirements, and communication that's product oriented rather than developer driven.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work. Also, look at the benefit package, product management, and communication within departments.
