I have been working at Catapult Consultants

    Pros

    -flexibility in schedules
    -great benefits
    - positive atmosphere
    -helpful back office staff
-potential to move up as the company continues to grow
-good response time, considering the size of back office compared to current employee numbers

    Cons

Sometimes there is a lack of communication, which can be mistakenly misinterpreted as apathetic. However, the corporate side does show initiative and care in making sure all systems are running and that staff get what they need.

    I worked at Catapult Consultants

    Pros

A good environment to meet people young in their career for networking purposes, VERY smart and supportive COO, You can make your own career path if you are well liked.

    Cons

The leadership is lacking, lack of organizational structure, good old boys network heavily favored, leadership lacks ability and skill to lead others, opportunities only come to favored employees, revolving door of HR, VPs are treated like gods by the CEO (they get trips, and retreats, while regualr employees get pot lucks and apps paid for at Happy Hours, unless the COO pays out of pocket)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Dont just reward the employees you like but to instead look at all of the employees to cultivate positive and mentorship like relationships. There is stronger leadership needed with less back stabbing. Stop watching the bottomline on everything instead reward the employees and show appreciation outside of corny "Social Hours" and pot lucks. Offer more than false promises and provide more support to all employees in career growth and a better work environment.

I have been working at Catapult Consultants

    Pros

People are always willing to help you out when you ask for it. Management is also understanding when you need time off.

    Cons

There is no promotion system, it seems to be based heavily on favoritism. And there is praise and recognition, but no monetary reward system for hard work (only verbal praise).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The CEO should be more engaged with his staff, and senior management need to better contribute to company direction and mission.

Fast growth, poor communication from management

    I worked at Catapult Consultants

    Pros

The fast growth means lots of new and different project opportunities that are often available to many of the employees. If an employee works hard and is successful, they are rewarded with their choice of new project opportunities. In general the project managers I've had contact with have great management and people skills and they establish a positive rapport with the team. The COO is a hardworking, very smart guy that appreciates good employees and recognizes motivated employees that produce good, quality results.

    Cons

Communication can be very poor and decisions on anything can be very slow from senior management. The back office support (accounting, contracts, HR, etc.) seem disorganized, unfriendly and unresponsive (especially the VP of Finance) to requests from employees. The entire organization of the company is a little unclear as there are several individuals with a great deal of responsibility (including the COO), but little public recognition of the hard work. The CEO seems to have no apparent responsibilty for anything.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Talk to the employees more, become more approachable and improve communication in general. Make the senior management team accountable for their actions and don't reward poor performance just because you personally like someone.

    Pros

Senior management is very adept at miscommunication. Somehow they manage to keep the company afloat

    Cons

in the last few months there have been droves of personnel leaving the company, all with the same feeling that they are utterly mismanaged and often ignored and lied to

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Learn how to listen to your staff and learn how to lead. a young egotistical leadership group of good ole boys is not what a real company needs to survive.

Owners have an open line of communication with their employees and they seem to genually care about their employee's job satisfaction.
Owners are extremely talented in ensuring that Catapult continues to grow, which it has done every year i've been here. Again, this provides tremendous opportunities for Catapullt's employee's to grow heir careers.
Catapult has a lot of different work locations

    Cons

Commuting to headquarters can be difficult depending where you live.
As a small business Catapult's resources are limited so their isn't a lot of support staff.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I think both Tony Fung and Josh Bogart are excellent owners and they provide exceptional leadership for Catapult's continued success.

I have been working at Catapult Consultants

    Pros

Salary is a little higher than other government contractors.

    Cons

This applies primarily to the Marines business market.

Micro management, poor project management, and no appreciation for hard work. The VP of the company apparently wants to dictate what needs to be done, how it should be done, and when it should be done. The team I was with worked very hard for the client and had to put up with a lot of government BS. However, management decided that the team could do multiple projects at the same time. So not only did employees had to manage expectations of the client, they had to manage expectations of their employer as well. WTF?!

The VP also had his own hench men that he brought and I guess they're awesome because most of what they can do and promise to the client can be done in a day or few days. Unfortunately some government clients believe them and the actual work is not done by his hench men, but by employees that already have full time work.

The COO decided to speak with us, the frontline folks and meet with us one on one. We all gave our speil about the work, the client, and management. He was much more personable than the VP. He even acknowledged the same silly issues as us unfortunately at this moment it doesn't appear he took any action based on the feedback.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Show appreciation to your employees on the frontline, especially if they are no where near the head quarters. Give better bonuses especially if they are helping you win the contract. Be flexible! You and ever other government contractors core value should be to do great work for the client & your country and NOT lets win a contract to suck the tax payers money.
