The company has an excellent career development program. The managers genuinely care about your career advancement and they strive to get you to achieve your aspirations.
Cons
When things gets busy, sometimes it is hard to track down people since everyone has different priorities.Occasionally things take longer to finish due to that.
Advice to Senior Management
I love the career advancement program and I want the company to keep up the good work. Managers are willing to listen to you and give you valuable advice.
Pros
Compensation, diverse growth opportunities, look after their employees, for example allowing time off when needed and where possible.
Cons
Location. Location, location! Expectation of mobility for growth.
Pros
Good knowledge sharing and practice of retaining and developing knowledge, good work life balance, relatively stable
Cons
many grumpy old employees, contribution is selectively valued depending upon the personal relations with the manager, good ole boys club mentality in many places, most of the people get 3B as performance grade irrespective of contributions unless someone is in very good terms with the manager
Advice to Senior Management
value individual contributions in a fair manner
Pros
Pay and benefits very competitive, brand recognition, looks good on a resume, size enables company to negotiate nice discounts for employees, depending on the CEO - there is some political clout to a company that employs so many people worldwide
Cons
Too large so many employees get overlooked: highly effective don't get their due, poor contributors keep their jobs,.
Management is do as I say, not as I do. There is politics galore. The "values" don't mention politics but it should. Where is transparency?
Advice to Senior Management
The stockholder is important but your employees are the ones who DO the work so lead them.
Pros
There are International opportunities at Cat. A lot of choices. Learn a lot about manufacturing. The people are very nice.
Cons
Relocation required to move up. There is constant change and organization alignments. It can be difficult to stay focused on an objective.
Pros
Good benefits, for now. Multiple locations.
Cons
Lack of opportunities unless willing to relocate at company whim.
Advice to Senior Management
Treat your employees with respect - all employees, not just engineers.
