Pros
Company consistently ranks high in surveys
Values its employee contribution (no layoffs even with the downturn in economy)
Travel perks
Cons
Very obvious line between ranks of employees (example: if you're an admin staff, you cannot sit next to the execs during the meetings). Makes you feel unworthy.
Pay is not on par with industry standards
Advice to Senior Management
Look below the top level management and recognize the contribution of the unsung heros
Pros
Employees are treated well and looked after in times of crisis. Cathay expects a 110 percent but then also gives back the same to the employee. I have been very fortunate to have a very understanding RGM especially considering the environment one works in in Pakistan.
Cons
There are very few and the only one really is that being a Pakistan hire the chances of growing further beyond the role of Country Head Pakistan is limited at best.
Advice to Senior Management
Be more bold and aggressive in the markets you are in. Be more proactive then reactive and listen more to those that are on the ground in out ports!
Pros
Good working environment and helpful colleagues
Cons
Limited progression in the company
Advice to Senior Management
Review career advancement ladder
Pros
Great Team to work with. Nice customers and good environment. Equal opportunities are available to all backgrounds. Good set of guidelines.
Cons
Management not always very flexible. Salary package and other benefits could be a little better given the market salary for the same job.
Advice to Senior Management
Try to make the team more united and you will have better results overall. Give more opportunities to those who want to learn.
Pros
Decent renumeration (compared to the rest of the industry). Good benefits package including medical and dental - package allows for some customization to your specific needs.
Well respected employer with a good reputation.
Good bonuses and profit sharing policy
Cons
Operates in a lean work force policy so sometimes the work load is excessive.
Training opportunities for softer skills are not many - Most training is to meet technical needs or regulatory requirements.
Advice to Senior Management
A 360 degree appraisal / assessment system would be good to allow employees to provide feedback on their managers.
A formal project review at conclusion and feedback of lessons learned into the loop would be beneficial to improve efficiencies
Pros
cheap tickets for staff and parents.
Cons
no growth, not much is concentrated on staff welfare. poor internal communication. incompetant senior staff.
Advice to Senior Management
hope they take the time to make a change by seeing what goes on in our everyday life as a general staff through our eyes.
Pros
management is very good company
Cons
unstable working time is not good
Pros
Excellent benefits - discounted air travel, corporate holiday houses, on site company gym, company transportation, great company reputation, modern corporate headquarters
Cons
Very cyclical industry - prone to economic impact and other external threats such as rising oil prices, global pandemics, increasing competition from LCC. The airline business is a tough industry.
Advice to Senior Management
Continue the excellent leadership and continue the corporate culture of collaboration and two-way communication between front-line employees and management. The generous profit sharing and recognitions have been might appreicated.
Pros
I can travel to different places every month and I can enjo meeting new people and opportunites.
Cons
I may need to work during midnight.
Advice to Senior Management
None.
Pros
secured job in tough time due to strong financial background
Cons
repetitive and boring job nature.. long hours and jet lag.
Advice to Senior Management
need to show care and respect to employees more
