    Pros

There are locations all over the country so if you want to transfer jobs, that is possible.
There are a number of services that are provided - ranging from substance abuse, housing, aid to those who are developmentally and intellectually disabled.
There is alot of diversity within the company - you get a chance to work with people of different races, ages, ethnicity, education background, professions and so on.

    Cons

Working with a non-profit agency sometimes mean less pay, but if that is the main focus for a person, then he/she should not work for one.

    Pros

The management and the staff really care about the mission of the organization. The staff are caring people as a whole. The current leadership (2010+) are bright, progressive individuals looking to steer the organization as effectively as possible.

    Cons

The current leadership team, both administrative, development, and program leadership have been promoted, some within a couple of years of employment. No harm no foul. However, opportunity for many staff at mid and lower levels of the organization is very limited. Leaves one with a sense of management takes care of their own, but what is good for the goose is not good for the gander. Although management sends out an employee survey, evidence of resolution of issues is not forthcoming. A large swath of the lower and mid tier staff cite 'employee recognition' as a chief complaint. Little is done.

    Advice to Management

Pay more attention to the life blood of the organization and staffing issues. Moving employees from engaged to committed requires commitment of resources, not just lop service.
