Good enough to work with Cavium

Senior Software Engineer (Former Employee)
Hyderābād (India)

I worked at Cavium Networks full-time for more than 3 years

Pros- Decent pay. Sometimes you will get a surprise about the hikes which even your manager was unaware of.
A bonus of min 10% apart from CTC.
- Flexi timings and no dress code. No need to apply for half day leaves. If you are in the office for just 4hrs, still counted as full day.
- If you work well, even the CEO knows about you. Very good recognition.

Cons- No process minded management. All are adhoc tasks.
- You can become a jack of all and master of none from the work perspective.

Advice to Senior ManagementPlease follow a process for tracking the tasks and work.

You are human capital at Cavium

Senior Hardware Engineer (Former Employee)
San Jose, CA

I worked at Cavium Networks full-time for more than a year

ProsPay is good, about 20% premium over small startups, with RSUs instead of options.

ConsCorporate culture sucks. You are truly human capital to be used up. My next job was like a country club compared to this salt mine.

Advice to Senior ManagementMake the talent feel special. Make this a place people want to stay.

Cavium is a great place to work. Workplace culture is casual and the engineering team has lots of talent.

Entrusted with a lot of responsibility, as a result lot of scope to learn and grow.

Cons1. Marketing and engineering teams not always on the same page.
2. No real perks.
3. While compensation is comparable, health benefits and 401(K) contributions are not good.
