    I have been working at Cbeyond as an intern (more than an year)

    Pros

    I was lucky to work in a group of intelligent people. There was a good work/life balance and the work was extremely manageable.

    Cons

    However, there were many employees that were too incompetent to allow any sort of progress. Upper level management is very short sighted.

    Think long term instead of quarter-to-quarter.

    Great product set. Wonderful, engaged and caring employees.

    Cons

    Lack of vision. Lack of strategic goals past 'wring every last $ of cash out of this asset'. COO with a 'god complex'.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Character and integrity matter. Pay attention to that - especially at a management level. Employees are not 'assets', they are people. Don't treat them like serfs. The ivory tower mentality of the 80's is played - study servant leadership instead.

    Good training. Great company if you are looking for an entry level telecom position. Product set is diverse. Good open- door management style.

    Cons

    Reliability of installations and service. Too many AM meetings that take too long. Micromanagement can happen when you do not perform.
