    Pros

None that I can think of. Base pay was okay and training was thorough.

    Cons

Selling a service that people will never use. Use scare tactics to get clients rather than facts and science.

    Pros

End of month lunch was great.

    Cons

Micromanaged. No consistance goals. All changes benefit the investors, CEO and VPCS. Hard to make more than your base if your a sales person.

    Advice to Management

Reinvest in your employees who make CBR what it is.

    Pros

Great working atmosphere, good compensation, continuous improvement. CBR was family owned and recently acquired by a business that is driving bottom line improvement but is also heavily investing in the IT infrastructure and systems. Change is difficult, so I am not surprised to see some employees look for other options that align with their preferences. I came from a corporate environment, having worked in banking and telecomm, so I am used to the expectations and ongoing changes. CBR is much smaller and more employee focused than the larger environments and I am very satisfied to be here.

    Cons

Right now the company is in transition and has lost some long time employees. However, it is hiring new talent and this will drive more success.

    Advice to Management

Keep your finger on the pulse!

    Pros

CBR is on the cutting edge with helping expecting parents with auto immune disorders, cancers, blood disorders,Metabolic disorders etc.

    Cons

The sales department is very micro-managed.

    Pros

The turnover rate at CBR is incredibly high. Most employees are employed for 1-1.5 years. It is easy to get your foot in the door and to pad your resume with a very unique biotechnology company.

    Cons

The turnover rate is what it is for a reason. Your sales goals are simply not achievable because of upper management mishaps and they refuse to do anything about it.

    Advice to Management

Correct and own your own mistakes.

    Pros

Flexible work schedule, employes have a chance to make a significant impact at the company. Recurring revenue keeps the company financially stable.

    Cons

The PE firm that owns the company is bleeding it dry. CBR has lost sight of the reasons it became the most successful Cord Blood bank and currently are too hungry for immediate growth. They are bleeding the company dry to make them look profitable on paper. Employees aren't valued at the company and there is little room for career growth. Employees are often spread thin and are covering for positions that have not been filled by HR. Pay is below industry standards. For all of these reasons, company moral is very low and many people are unhappy to work there.

    Advice to Management

Place more value on your employees and set them up for success. Continue to grow the industry and place more value into advancing the science and uses for your products, rather than making the company look good on paper.

Leadership changes seem to have lost original company focus

    Pros

With a solid recurring revenue stream and a great lab (processing the stem cells), this company should continue to be financially strong and offer a good service for many years to come. I left after almost 12 years and felt neutral when walking out the door. (There were plenty of positives and negatives that were offsetting at the time I moved on.)

    Cons

After being bought in the fall of 2012, the Founding CEO was replaced and as a result, most of the senior executive team. The focus shifted from delivering the best product/service possible to becoming more profitable for the PE firm. This isn't to say that the service isn't valued by the new leadership, but the consistent talk about growth and profitability seemed to overshadow the prior culture where the focus was on delivering the best product in the market and then watching the market grow as a result.

    Advice to Management

Put more value in the employees that grew the company at such a fast pace prior to you taking over.

    Pros

Great Atmosphere, Benefits, Cutting edge science

    Cons

False advertising about the abilities of your product, too many check ins and hovering from superiors, do not let sales man just sell but rather force them how to with prompts.

    Advice to Management

Stop acting so fake. The general practices of your management is to over compensate for knowing nothing by being overly excited about their jobs. Your employees can tell that you dont know what you are doing and that you really are only worried about the money.
