    Pros

Uhm none, sadly. OK, maybe the Starbucks inside the hospital

    Cons

I've been with Cedars for 8 years and unfortunately it's changed for the worse. I used to be proud of where I worked and honored to be apart of such a distinguished organization - I can't say that anymore and I'll be looking for employment elsewhere. Morale has really plummeted. I've worked at other distinguished hospitals in the LA area and I'll be banging on their doors to let me come back. If you want a solid learning experience and an opportunity for growth go to UCLA, if you want to learn proficiency and efficiency in the workplace go to Kaiser, if excellent patient customer service is your focus go to Huntington Hospital, if you want to waste your time, by all means, come to Cedars!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I'd say wipe the slate clean of the current management and recruit from other hospital's management teams who know what they're doing.

    Pros

Learning new skills and understand the games/ politics of a large organization.

    Cons

If you're not part of the in-crowd,brown nose or Jewish there's no hope for your success.. Their Employee Contracts are At-Will, and upper management will terminate you, if they think you're overly confident, driven and goal orientated . Thus, they are intimidated by your drive and agile approach to situations in the workplace, etc. This was my second place of employment and a negative experience. I'm certain the CEO ( a very kind family man), has no idea how employees' are being unfairly treated and harassed. It would be of great benefit if Cedars-Sinai could implement the Undercover Boss!!!

This was my second place of employment and a negative experience. I'm certain the CEO ( a very kind family man), has no idea how employees' are being unfairly treated and harassed. It would be of great benefit if Cedars-Sinai could implement the UNDERCOVER BOSS investigation method , as they would be astonished by the influx of the harassment and bullying complaints by the minorities!!!!

If you are a PhD scientist and no grant, run, or you'll be driven out anyways

    Pros

benefits are great, place has lot of money, good opportunities to interact with physicians if thats what you are interested in.

    Cons

this is a place for MDs, not PhDs. MDs rule and PhDs work for them mostly. they do not care about research or your career, just how many $$ you have. Even if you are doing great, relevant research, publishing great, are productive but do not have grants, the chairman will drive you out or demote you without giving any consideration how that might damage your career.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Care about good research and building careers of junior faculty if you truly want to be a premier research institution - don't weigh everything by $$ and as a business.

    Pros

Great benefits, pay, and lots of opportunities for those who are willing to work for it. Employees really seem to care about doing good work. There are also many resources available to balance work and home life. It's an incredibly charitable organization. Good works are rewarded.

    Cons

Every department and section seems to act independently of each other. There's a serious lack of cohesiveness which, I think, leads to missed opportunities and reinventing the wheel in perpetuity.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more accessible and work to streamline processes.

Current Employee - Registered Nurse in Los Angeles, CA

    Pros

Location, Most of MD is knowledgeable,

    Cons

Very political place to work, you better be on the same page with your manager or they will meke you to go. There is NO UNION, Nurses has NO rights, HR is on favor for managment. Violation of patient nurse ration,There have been many days when I went home after working 13 plus hours and not sitting down once or being able to use the bathroom.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

PLEASE make managers work with patients at list once a month to pick patient and be as a nurse and than see what can be improved or done better. Please investigate WHY nurses living 18 people in 3 month !!!. Why old nurses is ASKED to live???? are you saving on salary or Benefits???
