ProsGreat atmosphere especially for young people. Also great exposure to many skills which can be transferable to almost any other opportunity in the business world. Flexibility to work from home, great training program, plenty of vacation time.

ConsPay is decent for entry level, but not great. Work can be tedious and redundant at times. Not a whole lot of room for growth within the company.

Advice to Senior ManagementConsider giving people more opportunities to advance within Celergo. The flexibility to occasionally work from home to avoid the commute to the suburbs would be a huge bonus as well.

OK - kind of like a rollercoaster

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsVery comfortable atmosphere and casual environment. They are and will experience growth in the industry, and if you're in the client services side of the business, there are more growth and learning opportunities.

ConsThe management team is unsure how to utilize their talent and they don't seem to care about employee turnover. They seem to be in a confusing state and they hire people as they grow and then layoff people when the costs are too high, which is why it's kind of like a rollercoaster. If you're not in the client services side of the business, don't expect any growth or learning opportunities.

Advice to Senior ManagementAnalyze and utilize the talent you have. Appreciate everyone and the job they do in order to propel the growth of the business.

Not the best experience but valuable

Client Account Manager (Current Employee) Deerfield, IL

    Pros- experience
    - benefits
    - experienced and nice colleagues
    - casual dress code

Cons- High turnover (avg around 5 new hires and 7 resignations per month)
    - Cubicles
    - Low salary
    - Uninteresting and very technical industry
    - Cliquish and gossipy atmosphere
    - Older staff aren't really in tune with the needs and interest of younger employees
    - Leadership not receptive to change or outside ideas
    - Alot of "shared" responsibilities without appropriate compensation (ex. Client Services undertaking HR or IT duties, Admin performing sales functions)
    - HR not very approachable. There seems to be more emphasis or new hires rather than retaining current employees.

Advice to Senior ManagementDon't play favorites with staff, or expect everyone to share your views and passion for the industry or pet projects

    Learned a lot

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) Deerfield, IL

ProsOpportunities to take on responsibility and gain international experience, if are fluent in second languages you can use them for business, training is provided, great place to start your career with decent pay.

ConsPayroll is not glamorous, you could be bored. IT systems are poor. If you go the extra mile, you get extra workload. If you are not an employee favored by management, then your progress will stall out.

Advice to Senior ManagementListen to everyone, not just a few employees.

    you're on your own

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Deerfield, IL

Prost-shirts and jeans, shorts and tank tops, beer, wine and parties, ability to work from home...YEAH!!!! Great cakes from the bakery.

ConsThe main problem is Management. Often they have conflicting instructions so no matter what you do, it's wrong. Benefits are horrible. The people depts main responsibility is to tell you that you need more life experiences to get paid better, what??? They are using a HR model that was trashed by another company because that process demoralized the employees. Unfortunately, Celergo just doesn't get it. However, if you are a 'favorite' then your life is EASY.

Advice to Senior ManagementI do have advice for the investors or clients. Do your own internal investigations at the company, do not depend on what they tell you, most of it is not reality.

Great place to learn and grow... If you're interested in global payroll

Client Account Manager (CAM) (Current Employee) Chicago, IL

ProsEntrepreneurial spirit within company encouraged. Work life balance is promoted and management wants employees to be happy. Casual dress is awesome!

ConsCan be unorganized and hectic since the nature of work is very cyclical.

Advice to Senior ManagementRecognize employee strengths and build positions around those. Use your employees to make them happy and make the company successful.
