    Pros

    High growth potential
    Excellent Benefits
Flexible work environment; lots of opportunities to grow with the company

    Cons

Vacation time can be limited depending on seniority
The company is pretty much in a holding pattern until high growth customers materialize

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The company has shifted its focus towards sales and marketing which is definitely the right direction. Only time is going to tell if the company is going to take off or not. Not a bad place to get into right now if you can.

    Pros

pay is ok. Benefits are better than most. 401K is currently doing well

    Cons

Absolutely worse collective group of management I have ever worked with. Micromanagers, skirt chasers, sycophants, and patronizing, condescending misanthropes. None in the facility can be trusted.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Corporate needs to take a serious look at the current group running the Concord facility. Very poor management team in place.

    Pros

Night shift is relaxed. Good medical and dental benefits, but those come from the parent company, so look for a job in the other company's of Polypore.

    Cons

Where to begin? The management staff is almost completely incompetent. They infight and bicker more than children. They do not care about the needs of the production employees, most notably night shift. Promotions are done solely on how much face time you have with management. Night shift is severely lacking in people, while day shift's have double the number of people for the same amount of work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You need a chain of command, a set hierarchy of who answers to whom. Stop expecting your people to go the extra mile for you, while you make it obvious you are not willing to do the same for them.

    Pros

    Good benefits. Decent pay.

    Cons

Management promotes a team environment but only when it suits them. Not even close to a true team environment. Very poor communication from the top down. The management team does not promote or reward employees for hard work, skills or knowledge. Be prepared to do some boot licking if you want to go anywhere with this company. They have no idea how to utilize or evaluate talent.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Worry more about devoloping your good employees and less about treating them like school children.

    Pros

great benefits - profit sharing, company input and company match gives you a chance to get up to 14% and the insurance is in the top 5% of any job I've heard of with similar duties.New technology - this gives you the chance to grow with the company but be prepared for CHANGE and GROWTH, along with this comes growing PAINS.

Yes I would recommend this job especially if the business forecast increases.

    Cons

New technology grossly over-estimated forecast. Policies and work environment is still being established and most of it is a painstaking process so be PATIENT.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

share information a little more often about future of company, this is a start-up

    Pros

Clean environment, most of the people are good to work with, and benefits are decent.

    Cons

pay and proggression is kind of tiring, lots of team roles and hoops to jump through to make progression.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

be more open about progression instead of throwing roadblocks.

    Pros

Working nights is very laid back.

    Cons

Management seems detached from the rest of the work force.
There seems to be a lot of infighting amongst management.
Six's idea's get stolen from the low level people who submit them and the people overseeing the 6's (Lean Six Sigma) tend to present those ideas as their own.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Learn to get along, learn to work together.
Please don't forget about night shift personnel, I.E. turning off the a/c at night to save money...

    Pros

Celgard puts a lot of effort into hiring great people. The people I worked with are some of the best I have ever partnered with.

    Cons

Company often finds its self in "panic mode" with regards to customers, many knee-jerk reaction decisions are made. For such a technical company, they really know very little about how to make their product well, many quality problems.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Putting all your eggs in one basket with respect to sales isn't the best long-term strategy. Review the current top-down leadership style and approach and correct it. Work on communicating effectively to employees, even middle-managers are often in the dark with large decisions.
