I worked at Celltrion full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Celltrion is one of the world leading company in the biopharmaceutical industry. People can work with pride with competitive benefits. CEO's vision of business, support for the employees , and social contribution are excellent.

    Cons

Sometimes, maybe often(, maybe usually), people there need to work super hard.

I have been working at Celltrion full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Status as a worldwide leader in monoclonal antibiody biosimilar development & commercialization makes it a great place for some unique experience. Founder and current Chairman/CEO is a visionary and he's had a great deal of luck that played in his favor but can't deny the fact that he led the company to where it is now. Company claims that salary and benefits are at the top of the industry but can't verify, although personally content with the current status as it is. Thrown right into the work itself so if you are motivated and dedicated, should help you grow professionally. Employees are generally younger than the average in other companies.

    Cons

Seems to be led very much by one man only: not sure how the company will do if and when he no longer manages everything hands-on. Work hours got better but could do better by paying for overtime after 6pm. Workforce not yet stable an organization: lean management is good but the house needs to be in order to get stuff done. Company's stingy on training, makes some employees feel as if they are disposable. Could be wasting your time if working for "bad" supervisors. Aggressive goals sometimes makes you do things that are simply absurd. Wonder if some of the experience here will be relevant elsewhere in the industry.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to upgrade training program, support management training as there is absolutely none right now. Could dial back some goals, ambitions as they are straining the workforce, infrastructure too much right now.

    Pros

This company has a lot of room for growth. Individuals are given lots of responsibilities that can motivate them.

    Cons

Majority of the management who come from an automobile industry do not have a clue about the pharmaceutical business. If you are an experienced expat, you will be promised great things non of which will come true.

    Pros

If there are any pro's then I am still looking for them. Perhaps that you worked in a foreign country in some capacity as an expratriate might look good on your CV.

    Cons

If you are a westerner i.e from the US or Europe then consider this before signing up with Celltrion - Korean culture is vastly different to what you are used to in the West. Contracts are loose documents that can be changed at a whim of the contract giver and often do. This means that your salary, job, position or any other benefit promised can be revoked once you are in Korea and you have no other recourse but accept the situation as is or be fired and return to the US. Women are treated as subjugates - it's a Korean mans world. The company has always got big plans which keep on changing as they lack direction. What you read in the press releases is pure PR.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please be a bit more discreet when asking personnel from established companies who you aim to hire to take confidential material with them.
