    I worked at Cels Enterprises as a contractor (less than a year)

    Pros

    The close proximity to my home. The employees are nice, easy-going people.

    Cons

    The CEO/Owner is a controlling, negative person. He doe snot provide the tools for you to be successful in your position. Your basically working blindly base don your own gut and experience. He rambles on and on and often makes no sense. He doesn't allow creative ideas to take shape, instead shuts them down negatively before you have a chance to explain your thought process or point of view.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Communicate with your teams in an effective way on a consistent basis. Acknowledge emails and ideas, that's why you hired good talent. Utilize them!

    There are no pros, please read review

    Cons

    Don't ever work at a place where there is no official HR department, there's one random person who does "HR" stuff and isn't even clear on California law or knows the definition of confidentiality . In addition to that, the reporting structure for mid level employees is a disaster, some of the employees that work there are the absolute worst rude, yelling, throwing things. It's a horrible place to work, yes they do pay well probably because they know the only way to get people to work for them in such horrible hostile conditions is if they pay well. Also, one of my bosses threw something at my face when she got really mad once...at my face! Everyone in the room saw and did nothing..NOTHING. I would have filed a complaint if I could however, there's no HR department, huge red flag!

    There are some great people who work for this company.

    Cons

    They are a very dishonest company that will do anything for a dime. They sell a customer one shoe but will ship them something with substandard quality.

    There is no structure, everything is decided on a whim.

    There are people that hold positions at this company that are not qualified. The only reason that they have the job is because of favoritism.

    Get a handbook, add more structure to the company.

    Dated Office Areas, its Fashion Shoes so it is fast pace and high stress which isn't for everyone.

    Cels is better refered to all employee's as Hells Enterprises. It truly is like being in hell.

    If you manage to get on one person's good side (the owner) you will make ton's of money and get away with doing absolutely nothing. He is fascinated by incompetance and a senior executive staff who doesn't even speak proper english.

    Cons

    The minute you are no longer liked by the owner, consider that your last day. Regardless of your work performance. They continue to pay people to "go away". Someone needs to put a stop to this!

    There should be a major company reorganization. Upper management needs some serious replacing, starting with the so called CFO. There is no respect or common knowledge of better business practices.

    Pros

    Location is good
    Employees are very nice, friendly

    Cons

    Very liitle opportunity to grow, be promoted
    Managers are not knowledgeable and have no leadership skills
    Some top managers will die before saying that they are wrong or don't know something
    Employees are scared to try anything new and blamed endlessly when something doesn't work
    Reviews are not given on a regular basis, so when you ask for raise they can say you have not done much.

    A lot of very good dediated people are willing to work more and do their best, but some incompetent ones are in the way of getting things done
