I have been working at Cenergy International

    Pros

Great location for those that live in the Cypress or Spring area. A consistent paycheck. For the most part employees are friendly and helpful.

    Cons

Executive team micromanages instead of trusting or growing their workforce. High turnover and management could care less. Low pay. CFO runs the company like it's her own. The COO is the only member of management that seems fair. General lack of processes or direction.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Grow and trust your workforce. Pay people what they deserve to be paid.

I have been working at Cenergy International full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Pay pretty well, Decent Benefits, Pay on time.

    Cons

A lot of politics, A lot of drama within the company, not trustworthy

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I have worked for this company for over 8 years. The company has too much politics. They promote based upon who you know and who's butt you kiss. My advice to management is to keep your word when you promise your employee something. Take care of your employees who work hard for you. Lastly, do not throw your employee under the bus to the client just to make the client happy regardless if it is the employee's fault.

I have been working at Cenergy International as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

If you can get the energy company to approve your contract, Cenergy will make it happen.

    Cons

HR lack of followup, lost personal records, employee responsible for pre-employment costs for physicals, etc. No reimbursement. Slow to react to employee concerns, requests, eager to please the big oil company clients but not so much concern for the employee. Be sure to get your terms of agreement in writing and understand all the up front costs you will incure before agreement is made.

I have been working at Cenergy International full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Cenergy is like a recruiting firm; they help get you a position and take care of the paperwork. I'm essentially an independent contractor, with all the benefits and drawbacks therein. It's actually a good deal. They take their cut which is actually pretty small compared to competitors, so I get more of the rate the actual hiring company is paying. From looking at the budget numbers I think I am keeping around 90% of what Cenergy is actually billing the client.

    Cons

Because you are a 1099 employee you have to take care of your own vacation, sick time, and health insurance. However, you can write off a lot of that so it can actually help at tax time.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I like that Cenergy is pretty much out of the picture. However, that can hinder as well, since I take pride in being an engineer and Cenergy itself does not support it.

    Pros

Plenty of contract work avaialable with big O & G.

    Cons

Although they have a large support network, they do not followup or give strong support once you're in place.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Screen your clients and know what they're needs are and make sure that they provide you with clear and concise job descriptions etc.
