Enjoyed my work, the mission, but poor communication from the top kept all of us on edge as company fortunes declined.

I worked at CenterLight Health System full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Terrific corporate mission, pleasant HQ work environment, great coworkers, great benefits, good pay. I enjoyed the work, and I knew I was doing good for our members/patients.

    Cons

Poor communication from the top, mismanagement of finances, repeated layoffs over the past year and a half, each time with a promise that there will be no more. Employee morale is low and good people are leaving before they lose their jobs.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Tell the staff what is going on with the company. You used to have town hall meetings, which were very helpful. Even if the news is bad, employees deserve to know the state of their company and how this could affect them. This will also stop the constant rumors. Knowing for sure stops the speculation.

I worked at CenterLight Health System full-time

    Pros

    * Quick selection process, one round interviews, once interested in you will get call right away

    Cons

    * Coaching of employees was non-existent, in early formation stages, personal development plan a new thing, didn't seem to be a corporate practice and not rolled out well. Typically personal development plans are top down, where senior management has a clear direction and vision, and lower ranked employees are to tailor their development to fulfilling that vision. At my time there, personal development plans were bottom up. Interesting, confusing and ineffective.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    * Building organizational culture, norms, as company no longer "mom and pop shop." Employee surveys, satisfaction, on-boarding, off-boarding, problem resolution methods needed.

I have been working at CenterLight Health System full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Excellent benefits, salary. Warm, friendly, supportive colleagues.

    Cons

Unstable, chaotic, unrealistic expectations. Going to work on a daily basis is like going to combat. It's impossible to get anything done because you are so busy putting out fires. Everyone's mental and physical health is at risk because it is so stressful. Management seems to be having a difficult time trying to but realistic systems/structure in place thus adding to the instability.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Each caseload should be comprised of a nurse, social worker and team facilitator. They should brainstorm with other organizations that have successful MLTC programs. Additionally, a reliable documentation system would also help.

I worked at CenterLight Health System full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Friendly, family organization. Great staff. A lot of management strive to help you dvelop and improve. Great work life balance. Benefits are excellent.

    Cons

It's a shame, but this once great organization has lost its way. It used to be great, but senior managemenet seem to have fallen asleep over the last few months, ultimately leading to mass cuts resulting in many hard working and good people losing their jobs.
No clear direction from senior management. Worryingly clueless at this critical stage.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There's still time. Stand back and review the entire organization and not just specific areas. Joined up thinking is needed instead of working in a silo.

    Pros

You are generally not micro managed, which allows you to work as needed. Unfortunately the flip side of this, is that this is done this way, because of the lack of defined structure regarding those functional elements. No defined process, no P&P.

    Cons

Seems as though in it's current state they are re-tooling the organization. Re-structuring for what appears to be assimilation by other entity. No structure in their process, no BPs, no ITIL, and upper management is ignorant of what is required for the functional elements to prove to be successful in task completion.

I have been working at CenterLight Health System full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

    High salary, good benefits, parking

    Cons

New management who only care about their title. No ethics, the elderly members are looked at as numbers, the management forces employees to work in an unethical manner. Who ever speaks up gets walked out as a crimimnal by security guard in front of other employees. Factory like environment. The case load is enourmous, the elderly members do not get the right care because management is using new hires to correct the problems which existed there for years before. Computer system is outdated, no compliance

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Respect the wonderful employees they are all professional and you may learn from them. A good manager makes emoloyees feel important, at CL
Managers only care about looking important themselves. Quality is before quantity. Fix the system from inside out. Good luck
