    I worked at CenterPointe Hospital

    Pros

They provide one on one attention to each patient. Being able to work in a free standing psychiatric facility has created a wonderful insight to the benefits each employee receives.

    Cons

Promotions and compensation for hard work are limited, unfortunately.

I worked at CenterPointe Hospital full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The staff is superb. They were all friendly and very helpful. Some of the senior staff were very competent, as were many of the nurses. The pay was very good for my level. The CEO cared highly about the patients. The chemical dependency unit was staffed by a world renown doctor who did a superb job with the patients on his unit. He did not believe in using any mood altering medications. It was very clear that this doctor loved his patients and his field.

    Cons

Due to this being a medical model-the goal was 'profit in medicine'. It was not about healing.
The performance expectations were highly unrealistic. The management style which started at the top was to treat underlings as incompetents and that attitude and management style swam downstream.

I have been working at CenterPointe Hospital full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The staff are genuinely concerned about the patients, which is much more than what management or physicians think about them

    Cons

All they care about is the money. Mostly yes people in management, who thank their lucky stars they get paid to do so little. No raises for years, yet they dispense drug samples and bill for them. Morale is so low, staff go through the motions of their jobs, clock watching.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat people with respect and dignity and maybe you'll be able to retain quality people. Most of the staff are rejects from other facilities.

I have been working at CenterPointe Hospital full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The staff that you work with on the floor are very caring.

    Cons

No raises for several years. Very unprofessional management staff, Management is not open to any new ideas and are more concerned about making money than they are concerned about the wellbeing of the patients. Frequent cancelling when census is low. When you request time off, you do not get it. Unethical behavior with insurance fraud that should be investigated (ie, keeping patients longer than they need to be kept inpatient and then lying to the insurance companies about the progress of the patient.) Being told to lie about bed availability when plenty of beds are available by upper management. Being forced to move patients to the "acute unit" so that A&R can say that they have no beds available, which makes the patients angry and most of the moves are inappropriate, just so the company can avoid taking an uninsured patient-which is beyond unethical and illegal. Looking for a new place to work as we speak..

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Shut this place down..

I have been working at CenterPointe Hospital full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

The nursing staff are really great to work with.

    Cons

Management will not become educated with regard to floor level patient care/ staff needs.
    Raises are very rare.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please take some time to work on the level of your employees. Get an idea as to how the company is at a stalemate for customer service.

I have been working at CenterPointe Hospital full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Awesome coworkers, who go above and beyond for the clients on a daily basis. Great teamwork and pulling together and not only when the chips are down

    Cons

Hard to get coverage for vacation time, frustrating at times due to what feels like lack of support from people in authority

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You have some awesome staff, treat them well and give them some kind of an Incentive to keep up the good work. Take a good look at what you have now and not what you can have in the future. Your business is nothing without good staff, hold on to them

I have been working at CenterPointe Hospital full-time

    Pros

Great program to help with those with mental illness. Free transportation for those struggle to get care in the city and outlying areas. The chemical dependency program is great!

    Cons

No raises in several years. Administration has poor communication. Inpatient care the best in this area with a long way to go between consumers and medical staff.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't forget to include the person who actually does the job in making decisions for them. Inpatient care could be so much better with increased communication between patients and doctors.
