I worked at Centers Health Care as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

People were very nice and helpful. They made sure you know what you're doing and that you're doing it right. Great coffee. Everybody seemed friendly with each other. Everybody was on the same team.

    Cons

Work was very tedious. There didn't seem to be much room for growth, however I have heard that that may have changed. Salary was low, but I was an intern so not surprising. Not many cons.

    Advice to Management

Dont change much. Everybody seems to enjoy working there and everybody respects management. Thats more than you can say about most other places. Good job all around.

I worked at Centers Health Care full-time

    Pros

They are very good at making sure the staff is working tirelessly and for the least amount of money. Unless you are dishonest and quick to assign blame to someone else...then you are an integral part of their organization!

    Cons

Lack of respect to the residents they serve, by allowing poor care and sub par quality. Focus is on how to "Code" MDS documentation for maximum reimbursement, not accuracy and integrity. Questionable fraud! Therapy (both OT and PT) are considered only for those residents with acute medical requirements, NOT for the benefit of the individual's maintenance of quality of life!

    Advice to Management

    Get a new job!

I worked at Centers Health Care part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

NONE. I can not find anything positive to write about my experience at the Washington Center in Argyle, NY.

    Cons

This is one of the worst companies I have ever worked for. I have had per-diem positions in the past, but the management at the Washington Center in Argyle, NY fails at every level. Aside from being intentionally misled by the rehab director about what the requirements of the position were, it has taken 3 months to get paid for work that I did.

    Advice to Management

Your entire management team should be terminated

I worked at Centers Health Care full-time

    Pros

Great benefits, this company makes it easy to do your job as they support marketing ideas and give you all of the tools you need to carry the idea out. Every benefit you could want is with them.

    Cons

They truly operate like a corporation, there isn't much of a work/personal balance.

    Advice to Management

There is a lack of synergy between the buildings that sometimes makes it difficult to perform your job responsibilities

I have been working at Centers Health Care full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Company is expanding rapidly. Several locations. Benefits are available. Opportunities to transfer within company.

    Cons

Coverage for time off is limited for rehab therapists. Hunger for the bottom line can often affect your paychecks by shaving off minutes here and there. Over time, that adds up.
