    Pros

Not to big, not too small. Friendly employees

    Cons

This is a for profit employer. Some of their strategies make it difficult to do your job.

    Advice to Management

Don't be afraid to explain why.

I have been working at Central Florida Regional Hospital

    Pros

Lovely community, beautiful location, decent food, phenominal doctors & staff.

    Cons

Management,---too many chiefs & not enough Indians! No help whatsoever! Staffing--yes there's a nursing shortage, but you can't change a persons schedule, not tell them about the change, and then expect them to drop what they were doing on what should be their day off to rush into work...this happens EVERY DAY. All the other reviews here are 100% accurate!

    Advice to Management

Hire more employees, nurses and techs, lower the ratios, re-organize the whole ER process to what it Is at every other hospital in the world, beef up security--I mean, three 80 year old "guards?" To protect 3,000 people? This place was a great place to work in 2006, and all that's changed is management that doesn't manage!

  3. Not a fair company. everything is about profit. Only management is important to upper management

    Pros

good benefits including 4o1k and medical and dental

    Cons

HR is held hostage to a few employees that have a clear case for lawsuit. Upper management only acknowledges managers, All about profit behind the scenes. Nurse/patient ratio is unfair and necessary equipment not provided. The patient is important is a facade portrayed but not real.

    Advice to Management

Take a good look at HR. They are unfair and should not worry about lawsuits and reports to outside agencies. management needs to talk to employees and not rely on bad managers for reports. Good people are let go for minor reasons while unbelievable tolerance of unethical behavior is tolerated. HR director is biased.

    Pros

    1. The PM Shift RN's and PCT's were very friendly and always willing to help. 2. Compensation pretty decent 3. Flexible Hours

    Cons

    1. Management is VERY disorganized 2. Most of the charge nurses have no respect for the other staff 3. Average Patient to PCT Ratio was 15:1, could go up to 22:1

    Advice to Management

Get organized, and put more PCT's and RN's on the floor if need be; there's a reason when an RN or PCT is called into work they refuse to come in. The work load is just too much.

I have been working at Central Florida Regional Hospital

    Pros

A small time hospital in a small town atmosphere with a fair hourly starting salary. Most of the doctors are decent to work with. When you are finished with your work, you are usually allowed to go home.

    Cons

small town atmosphere creates old time clicks. Alot of back stabbing going on. Management doesn't talk to you and you never know where you stand with them. It's a dog eat dog world, never trust anyone. They will all rat you out if it suits their purpose to get ahead or look better. The call situation is a nightmare with only a handful of people doing all of the call.

    Advice to Management

give more feedback be it pro or con. you really don't know where you stand with them. You rarely see them in your work area.

I have been working at Central Florida Regional Hospital

    Pros

Taking care of patients. Of course that opportunity is not unique to this employer. Many coworkers are friendly.

    Cons

Management does hold all employees to the same standard. Performance reviews are months to years late. Management does not ever say thanks for doing thanks for doing a good job, let alone reward good performance financially. They seem to promote people to management positions who were good workers. Folks, pay attention here. Just because someone is a great nurse doesn't mean they have a clue about being a leader! In fact many of the charges nurses prove that it not the case.

    Advice to Management

Spend more time on the floor and see what really happens and who works hard and who hardly works. Some employees constantly call out sick, are tardy, or disappear for long periods and despite being told to correct their behavior, nothing changes.
