Pros – 12 hours of graduate tuition per semester.
Cons – --Low pay
--No medical benefits
--Unmotivated students (and no power to do anything about it)
Advice to Senior Management – Maybe skip a few of the catered luncheons and pay your people something.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Former Employee – worked at Central Michigan University part-time for more than a year
Pros – Central Michigan University constantly strives for professional development in every position. Central worked well around my crazy student schedule, and my advisers were willing to help with any life situation that interfered with work. I also loved the employee scheduling system: when to work.
Cons – There were not guaranteed hours, which did not make paying bills easy. There were also too many employees hired for the fitness specialist position.
Advice to Senior Management – Hire less fitness specialists so the students can work more hours. Keep the professional development programs. They were extremely helpful.

Cons – It's not one of the big league university...and sometimes the name counts :)

Current Employee – been working at Central Michigan University
Pros – Beautiful Campus, great benefits, nice city. Flexibility and great work life balance.
Cons – Sometimes questionable upper management. Top heavy organization. Typical college town where the quaintness is sometimes disturbed by the rowdiness of college students.

Current Employee – been working at Central Michigan University
Pros – The best thing about working for Central Michigan is scheduling availability. Working with generally good people. Learning new things all the time.
Cons – Receiving too much negative feedback. Supervisors are 'old school' and don't realize that their managerial styles are out dated and new approaches need to be taken.
Advice to Senior Management – It would be nice to receive more recognition for the tasks that you do well instead of always being criticized for not doing something good enough.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend
