    Pros

    If you land a big account you can make a lot of money (until Mgmt changes its mind and takes it away)

    Cons

    Mgmt is too busy answering to HQ to spend time with line employees
    Sr. Mgmt treats everyone like a number
    Mgmt makes promises and doesn't deliver including pay and commissions
    Benefits are very expensive and not good
    10% pay cut for everyone in 2009. 12.5% commission cut for sales in 2015

    Pros

    Half-decent pay rate for an economically-depressed area; but only if you are single without children or married and not the primary wage-earner. Even at that, the pay does not justify the workload and conditions of the job.

    Cons

    Extremely poor employee relations. Complaints, concerns or suggestions are largely ignored. "Corporate" team does not care at all about production staff. Seniority system is pretty much ignored and useless here; despite being a union shop. No raises in sight, yet pay was actually reduced by 5%. Terrible health insurance; extremely expensive with low coverage. 401k is offered but company does not match a single penny. An excessively burdensome attendance policy, especially for parents (we all know how situations and emergencies with children can arise unexpectedly). Company continually pushes more production and more responsibility onto workers to "make the company profitable" without any kind of corresponding compensation, or hope thereof. Too many "Top Dogs" it seems; who just throw scraps to the "mutts" that earn them their cushy jobs and salaries!!!

    Advice to Management

    "Treat employees like they make a difference, and they will!" LISTEN and ACT on employee concerns and complaints!

    Terrible corporate leadership. Misogynistic and homophobic remarks heard in upper management meetings.

    Pros

    There are some very nice people who work here who want to make a difference. Others who are just happy to show up and collect a paycheck but most of them are nice as well.

    Cons

    Suit and tie every single day in the corporate headquarters. This might seem fun at first but it gets old quick especially with the dry cleaning bills. (See statement on raises below)

    They are a printer but their technology across the board is very antiquated. One issue with this company is that when ideas start they are always stopped and never seen through to completion. I did not see them make one good decision during my time there.

    Expect to be shown the door if you have innovative ideas that will make your manager look bad for the fact that they did not come up with them. They like to snuggle up with the owners to cover their incompetence. There is no innovation with this company despite a drastic need for some before they need to close the door due to bad finances. "Status Quo is great". When you are shown the door expect to be escorted out and have everything cut off that day - pay, benefits, etc. They are extremely ruthless.

    You are always watched by HR in Stamford. Sadly they place more merit on if you sit in your chair while half brain dead from 9-5 rather then actually do something that will help the stock price. Also, HR is not truly an employee advocate. They oversee the hiring and firings at best. Expect to get dirty looks and have HR harass your manager if you need to step out during the day because you were not glued to your desk. All of this even if you have approval from your manager for stepping out.

    No raise unless there is an act of congress. Expect to be stuck at the same salary for a very long time despite your list of accomplishments. Some folks go several years without a raise. This was after compensation was cut by 10% for the whole company in 2010. There is also no formal annual review process.

    Extreme double standards from a performance perspective. Bottom performers who mess up time and time again are retained where top performers seek other employment due to all of the reasons listed here.

    Senior leadership sits in a separate area (ivory tower syndrome) and rarely talk with their employees to get new ideas or to seek feedback on difficulties. This is on a company, team, and individual basis. There is no vision or guidance on an executive level. It instead comes from the incompetent middle manager layer of the organization. All of this while those in the trenches are ignored.

    Advice to Management

    This is a rotten apple until proven otherwise. Take a solid look at your company and talk with your people to learn where the pain points occur. Then actually do something about it. Also, be honest with your employees and stop lying to them across all levels of the organization. Encourage your managers to be more professional and figure out the ones that are unprofessional

    Pros

    Everyone is always there to help you and answer questions. You feel like you have a work family from day 1. It was a shock coming here from my last company because i wasn't used to such a warm environment. The cafe is great, the food is very good and how convenient on a winter day! I also love the growth potential within the company, if you get bored you have the option to move around under certain circumstances. Another great thing about this location in Park Ridge, Il is being right next to the Metra station to take the train to work!

    A 401k match would be great so I can have a happier retirement :)

    Make it more known for growth opportunities within perhaps

    When I worked in Jacksonville, Florida we were like a close nit family. In Tennessee, everyone was out to get each other, a very inhospitable environment. This deters productivity and quality of work. You need to connect with the employees.

    Pros

    Some lower management has been wonderful, and the work is steady for the most part. Non-office personnel are really great people to work with. Laid-back environment.

    Cons

    Training is promised and then doesn't happen. Management keeps us in the dark, upper management and a lot of the office staff are incredibly stuck-up. Major personality conflicts abound. Trenched in staff is incredibly adverse to change. Big, big communications problems.

    Advice to Management

    Talk to your people without insulting our intelligence. Start dealing with the inter-personal problems. Just start communicating.

    Pros

    Offices are near some good restaurants. The cafeteria serves good food. I especially like the Asian Stir Fry and the salad bar.

    Cons

    Unimaginative leaders. Employee turnover is high. Good, talented people are often attracted by a decent paycheck but quickly become disheartened, marginalized by management and inevitably leave within a year. The majority of senior managers who succeed there, only do so by snuggling up to the owners and covering up their inefficient management skills by blaming their employees.

    Advice to Management

    Take some leadership training courses, learn to encourage innovation, and a creative environment. Paychecks will only keep talented people for so long because they will leave as soon as they get an offer in a modern, progressive company. Loosen up the ties take a deep breath, open your eyes and look around. You have made a lot of money doing business the old way but think about how much more you could make with happy, fulfilled employees who actually want to work there. If you earn your employees respect your stock prices will go up - and we all know you want that to happen.
